What's going on everyone? Thanks for viewing this thread. I so far have done enough to finally made a thread about it.

I picked up this 1985 GTS Coupe last month. The engine is on a fresh rebuild and has a new radiator with it. I was told it has an aftermarket intake cam in it but I cannot varify it. It came with catless megan exhaust and SRI.

Honestly, I kinda like the yellow. All your panels are straight, especially for USDM front end. I have a JDM bumper and my car still needs braces lol... Car will look great either way!

Over the summer, I was driving and tried to pass a car. I was in 4th gear going to 5th when I down shifted into 3rd... that started my problems. I must of blown each and every seal that I could. I would lose about 1 quart of oil per trip. I sealed up the leaks ( oil pan, valve cover) and replaced the distributor.

That is when it all went down hill.

The engine started to sound like a subaru...I was shooting out Prius size smoke clouds out the back and had blow back through my intake.

Went to do a compression check and 30psi on the first cylinder. So we pulled it thinking it would be a head gasket problem... Nope
That is the farthest my knowledge could bring me. I am sure it is a ring or valve float but each shop that I went to wanted to charge over 4k to fix it.

Bob at DO found a running blue top for me so I picked it up tonight and well we will see how it goes. While it is out, might as well do a new clutch/flywheel and paint the engine bay.

Man this car looked just like the ae86 gts i used to have. Same car maybe?.... Mine was an identical yellow, maaco painted, 85 corolla gts that was also stock silver and a coupe. There can't be that many weirdos other than me that would paint a gts that color. Where did you get this?
