You got a real nice project 86! A carbed 4age 16v is pretty good when done right and of course w/supporting mods. You have a lot of options on carburetors, you can go with the latest and greatest technology carburetors or you can simply stick with the old school. Here's a thread of my build if you're curious..

YOTAHOLIC808 wrote:Question:
SINCE MSD TIMING CURVE COMPS 8980 and 81 ARE HARD TO FIND, I WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THE ACCEL 500+ SYSTEM! Anyone know anything about this setup?
I think it comes down to personal preference, price, and availability. I got the 6AL-2 like most other carb swaps, but the Accel 500 looks pretty close, if not the same. The one thing I notice that's missing from any of um, is the ability to compensate for load like stock distributor setups used to (i.e. weights, vac advance, etc). IMO, Dr. Occa's is a good guy to get a hold of, he's helped me out a lot when I was building mine. Good luck n keep it going

Yeah i live Kailua! Haha, And when it comes time for ignition im hoping to source a MSD setup! I read Dr. Occa's carb thread all the time haha. Ive also been looking into the XDI setup, seems pretty sick having no dizzy but cant really find too much info on it here...

^ Couple things. First, look up the price of Keihin FCR 41mm carburetors. Second, if you don't have access to precise machinery (a GOOD and I mean GOOD mill) it will be hell. Third, you need to be REALLY good with a TIG welder (or know someone who is). Fourth, Nothing lines up. How do i know, look at my build thread.

Longchamps are fkn sickness btw. A guy I know in PHX was gonna sell me his 14x9J and 14x11J's but I turned um down... Seemed like too much work to get um to fit, plus 15" tires easier to find. Lookin good tho, SUBSCRIBED!!!
