Hey Club4ag,

Heres my 1987 Levin GTV build. Picked her up a few weeks ago. Its tough to get a good history for cars owned by Americans here in Japan, but from what has been passed down from the line of owners is that this Levin started out its life as the pace car at Ebisu when it was brand new, abandoned there in the woods of Japan, hauled out and fixed up and wound up into the hands of some american military folks. The original trim was gunmetal with the silver bottom, but somewhere in the history of owners, it was rattle canned red and purple. I'm going to do my best to bring it back to life, and hopefully when its all said and done, will be imported back to the states.

Diamond in the rough!

More pictures(engine bay pictures to come):
nothing spectacular underneath

Interior is quite mint. The momo steering wheel is going away and will be replaced by a nice Nardi. Only thing that will need to be replaced around the dashboard is the gauge shroud, where it is cracking around the vacuum gauge

Carpet will be replaced by one that has been molded. Haven't decided whether or not to ditch the bolt on roll cage.

When I picked the car up, previous owner had installed a fiberglass fender, only on the right side. The left side was rusted quite bad, so I managed to find a set off Yahoo auctions for quite a good deal. Already rolled too!

Sits pretty low in the back. Looks like they cut the springs. I'm gonna have to get it raised up for shaken. The rear is sitting on some pretty beat up SSR reverse meshes.

Pretty clean lookin undercarriage for sittin out in the sticks. Must be away from the ocean. Down here in Okinawa it's a constant chore keepin the rust off.

Yeah I can imagine. we're bit further inland, but rust is catching up with these older cars here.

Rust is an evil thing.

Any ideas on what color you are going with?
