Got me a Hachi!!

Hey guys! I'm new to the scene. I just recently put a down payment on an AE86 coupe, and I am going to pick it up on the 23rd!

I found the car here on the forum, It's the one in the classifieds with the 3tc swap in it. When I saw it, I fell in love with everything about it but those ugly 17's on it.

A little background on me is I am 17 (well for a few more days). This is my 2nd car, my first was a 1982 Jaguar Vanden Plas. The AE86 coupe is one of my dream cars :) I wanted to get something cool that I could drift now and then. However, as with most places, kids seem to have the mentality of "I will buy a 240sx, and instantly be a pro drifter". I wanted to avoid being sucked into that group, and buy a car that you don't see 5 of everyday. That's when I decided to hunt down an AE86.

To my surprise, they are alot cheaper than I had thought :). The car I bought also happens to be the exact color I wanted, so that's a huge plus!

My plans for the car are:
-Enkei Apache II 15"x8"
-Stretched tires
-comfortably lowered
-Rocket Bunny style spoiler
-Levin front clip
-Carbon fiber hood
-possibly aftermarket front bumper
-maybe some performance stuff (because I realize that the power it has already is enough for me to hurt myself)

Any discussion, or suggestions are welcomed! :D

Well congratulations on your AE86. I hope you have a great time in it. It is a special car in it's class.

Well the 240SX are like the civics of RWD these days. They are lots of support and for a good reason. Its only the owners that are responsible for that kind of mentality. lol

Actually guys, I have been having loads of issues with the car. Alot of electrical BS. I take the car in monday to have it professionally re-wired. However, when it is driving, It's a blast! I put new wheels on, MSD Digital 6AL Ignition, Accel Super Stack coil, some new gauges, I just ordered alot of Sparco interior bits, And new coilovers are soon to come!!

I really like your car, engine bay is clean and neat! If you want a more "conventional" shifter knob and boot, I can hook you up.... You just have to wait a few months until I'm back in the USA

Glad the UNI filters got there in time for your move. I was a little worried that they were being sent to a very rural area, they wouldnt get there in time. When time permits, you should wash them and re-oil them to have them looking bright and new.
