Should I or not?

There is an SR5 that is down the road from me. It is missing a hood, but that is all that I can see. I am turning 15 next year (Yes, I'm younger than most here.) and I was wondering if I should buy it. They probably won't ask for much, so I am assuming that I will be able to afford it. What does Club4AG think about this?
P.S. There may be a lot of problems.....possibly.......probably.

Have you got a place where you can store it round the back of the house ?
You may be working on it for a while, and your folks probably won't like it
being on the front lawn for the next two years

If its something you want, can afford, are able to put time in to get running the way you want it, and have the space and tools (or local shop) to get it running, I say go for it. But as stated already, it should be discussed with your folks so they understand they might have an eye sore on the property for a while.
But if yes is answered to the above, right now seems like a great time to get it. Gives you time to work on the car and get familiar with it.
The hardest answer would be if you can afford to get it all up and running. When I was your age, I had already been working 1 year, saving up for a Celica and getting it painted. I worked and saved so I could buy the car and get it looking how I had in-visioned. But if you dont have a source of income, or do not have parents that are willing to help out, this could be a problem.

I have not asked for a price but I do want it, I do have room, I know I have time, and I can probably afford it.

You could harass your parents.

Anyways, I don't think age is a factor. (Not having a source of income is another thing. xD)

Well, they already agree, but my mom thinks that I should wait because it would just sit in the yard for two years (wouldn't actually be two years, only 9 months).

Would it actually just be sitting? Or would you be fixing it up?

It depends on if I can find a "reliable" job. I will fix what I can with what I have.

If its a deal that you just cant pass up, then it might be worth obtaining. But usually in life, if you dont have the means to get something, and a working plan to get it to where you need it to be, more times than none it will be a failed endeavor. If you dont already have a stable job, in which to afford parts and such, it will be hard to stay on track to get it running and in shape to be able to drive when that time comes.
I am not saying its not obtainable, but you have to have the framework in place in order to get to your end goal.
