^^This.

Really old series, like 2005ish? No one really competed in it. As JSP John said, no one really won except the tow truck companies. It had a points bracket/modification penalty system that made it a pretty level playing field. Closest thing we have to it right now it the FT86 Cup that I run in. You can actually do well if you know how to drive and are in the correct class.

I would invite everyone to go. Our little SwangBiz group of drivers did well at the last event in our "ragged old corollas" as Robispec put it lol. I think there were about 18ish FRS/BRZ drivers and the three of us were the only Corolla drivers. We took 2nd and 3rd in the Street class and 2nd in the Stock class. Just barely lost the 1st and 2nd place spots. We pretty consistently always finish top 3 in our class.

Unlimited Class:
-Under 140 Treadwear tires allowed
-Turbo/Supercharged/Nitrous allowed

Street Class:
-140+ Treadwear tires
-NA only (swaps allowed)

Stock Class:
-Stock engine (16v engines)

The stock and unlimitied classes are always small, good chance of getting 1st place. Car to beat right now is the RobiSpec FRS that is now supercharged. Our 20v corollas on 195 tires were about 2 secs slower than their car on 245 hoosier slicks. The FRS/BRZ is fast, but can be outdriven easily when you weigh in 1000lbs less than they do.

Spectators are always allowed. Willow Springs charges $10 per person admission into the track though so bring cash. They have a strict policy against ride-alongs/passengers on the track. You must be listed as an instructor for the event in order to be allowed to have a passenger in the car. If you own a helmet, it's always a good idea to bring it to every track event even if you don't plan on driving. You may get the opportunity for a ride along randomly.

If you've never been to Willow before, GO. If you've never been on the track before, GO. You will be very suprised to see who is fast and who is slow. Miatas passing Corvettes are common. NEVER judge a car based on the model, a fast car does not mean the guy drives it fast. Lots of yuppie car guys at the track, racecar drivers based on what they read in Car and Driver. A corolla that is light on its toes and stops on a dime and gives you 5 cents change is a stronger force than most think.

I won't be doing the June event, but I plan on doing the July night event at Streets with several other corollas.

Very well said. My first time to Willow in my old Suby, I spanked a guy in a 355 who couldn't drive. There were other "slower looking" cars whooping up on exotics too. It was hilarious and really made me appreciate Japanese cars so much more than I already did.

Definitely recommend everyone go as well.
