Your only reliable way to curb the spam problem is to move to a user approval model. It's a pain to have to manually approve each user, but it's the only way to keep spammers out. The "good old days" of only needing to worry about keeping spambots out are long gone. There are plenty of spammers using actual humans to create spam on forums nowadays. I use a combination of the requested user's ip address and just generally looking things over before deciding to approve a user. A common giveaway is when the user uses a male name and claims to be female. I hope that gives you some ideas. Shoot me a pm and I'm happy to help out if I can.

LMAO at the spammers in the thread about spammers! Classic internet. I volunteer to be a moderator in charge of deleting spam posts. We can make the new Club4ag a better place.

To moto and koji, if we press the report button on a post of a spammer will this report go to your in box for you to review?

New member registration authentication has been implemented, but unfortunately I don't expect it to eliminate the spam 100%, although it should greatly reduce it moving forward.

If you find any spam bots on the board, please post up the links to their profiles here and I will try to get them cleaned up as best we can.
