Back from the dead. I'm thinking:

- All new window trim front-to-back and rear window seal (coupe and hatch).
- Door seals and trunk/hatch seals
- Floor mats
- Dash
- Tail light seals (something more durable than the oem junk)

I could go on and on, but these seem like the most pertinent items and would probably sell the best.

Kudos to TORPARTS

Yea hopefully as 3D printing catches on more someone can release 3D model files of the plastic pieces so anyone can print them at home. The T3 panels are nice for a race car, but really they don't match the car at all.

I have been calling some for refurbishing out OEM 3-point seat belts on my spare time to fine the proper webbing of the belts. Anyone here
already have a company do it for them. So far I heard from other car people, mostly muscle car, it would be around the 200-300 range for a set with the cores.
Mostly the front sets or by how much webbing seat belts used by the yard.

Seat belt restoration is hard to find for our Imports these days huh.

Fenders! OEM metal fenders. Holy hell they're hard to find. And a grommet kit would be awesome too.

Casting stainless is a huge PITA due to the temps required. If it's just the cable retaining bracket you'd be better off just having it cast in alloy and call it a day since it doesn't require massive strength. I'm also not too sure how well SS flows into molds if you're doing a standard multi-piece form, lost foam or lost wax may be a possibility but then there's secondary machining afterwards and that'll raise the rates a fair amount. With alloy the tooling is really simple so final finishing and cuts can be done quickly and simply.

If someone can get me drawings and measurements of the Techno Pro Spirits FCR manifold I can give it a whirl on casting them once I'm done with a few other projects. I may also have some ITB adapters for sale for the 1UZ, depending on interest and such. They'd be using ZX12R ITBS (46mm at the plate, different injectors available, just gotta make your own linkage to suit).

EDIT: ShagyMC: Wolf Steel does rear quarter panels as well as lower tear drop sections for weld in replacement if you need them. I'll see if I can dig up any links.

Is Wolf Steel still making those? I heard they stopped production a while ago... hoping I'm wrong about that.

True, perhaps I should've specified, I'm too used to being on other forums for casting and car stuff, I meant aluminum. The temp requirements alone drop the price significantly, and you can still make a very solid part if you use the right materials (alloy requires only a modest foundry, you can use clay graphite or graphite crucibles versus silicon graphite or otherwise; much much less fuel use and you don't have to step up to oil or electric, you can just use solid fuels or a middling LPG setup, etc.).

Grant, insofar as I'm aware they're back to making them. I knew they went out of production for a while, but they've always listed themselves as wanting molds for new parts, so if you send rockers, floor pans, etc. they'll make a die and start pressing them provided the need is there. I have no major need since mine is getting hacked up to make space for suspension redesign and wheel fitment, but I'm sure they'd be happy to press out what you need since I'm sure they still have the dies.

Oh, and Yoshimitsu, comically I'm right at the upper limit of what I can melt and pour with my little Reil burner. I'm in the copper zone, currently working with an alloy called shibuichi that I've mixed myself using second hand pure silver coins and (oddly enough) old pure copper electrical wiring. Fun stuff, a bit warm in the summer, but very fun. Cuts well, polishes beautifully, and makes for fascinating colors depending on the patina process. To be fair though I'm only using hand tools with it seeing as it's jewelry for a friend's birthday gift, so I wanted to make it as old school as possible. I can't wait to start playing with lost foam and aluminum, it should be heaps easier and very easy to machine (using my factory 1uz intake manifold and a few Volvo heads I have laying around for my first run of stuff).

Every parts that ae86 community needs we are able to reproduce; its just a matter of priority and supply and demand.

Torparts believe at this time the market is its infancy and as it become more mature, more parts will be reproduce.

Until then, most manufacturers like torparts will be making parts that sale quickly, low capital expenditure and sold at sizeable volume.

Fenders is on the list too. Its just a matter of time!

Allot of great comments, keep them coming!

I'm running a modern alarm with a 2 way remote, starter disconnect and everything... it just takes some wiring. Unless you are looking for popping your trunk and lowering your windows... then that is a different story.

Anyone speak chinese that can convince one of these aftermarket companies to make some tail light reps, levin front lights, corners, etc? It really sucks that I can go to a swap meet and find altezza tails for a 89 Hyundai Excel and not for this car. I think Torparts is on the right track. Just make stock replacement stuff. All other things can be made by other shops. Things like dashes, plastics, body panels is all we really need. Just the basics.
