How fast have you driven your 86?

Had the oportunity to get my car up to 115mph today and noticed some steering wheel vibration while getting up to speed, crazy wind noise, and the feeling that my floor panel woukd start sparking and fly off... it was great! ..but a little scary. Meanwhile an M3 flew by me, cool as a cucumber. I felt it reiterated the excitement of driving these smaller, and largely considered, underpowered cars ...where driving the speed limit at times feels like youre living life on the edge
So how fast have you guys gotten your cars up to and what was that experience like? Also, what kind of build do you have? (For example, my car could be considered a resto-mod I guess? GC coils w/ konis, springs 8/6, street cams and exhaust )

Maybe 100 once or twice on a closed road . I don't go above the speed limit much since my car is geared down. Not that I really want to anyway. Manual steering + QSR isn't the most confidence inspiring at high speed (nor is driving a tin can ). Maybe if I dialed more toe in and caster it would be better.

i did 100mph in my gts at 6grand it was cool

Approximately 125 on a long downhill with 195/50/15s. Front end got very light while doing so. With the new setup I'll have to see, will be more of an aero issue than gearing or power. I'm hoping for a minimum of 171 (with current 4.3 rear end), much higher should I change rear gears.

haha, topped out at 98mph, 4AC in high winds just didn't cut it, which is why i got a 20v BT sitting in my garage, waiting on me to buy the rest of the parts I need for the swap. Ride was smooth though, just put in a new rack and pinion and new tie rods.

140 according to my speedometer. Everyone else on the freeway was apparently doing a top speed run and passing me too.

240km/h+ wihle I was chased by an series 6 golf gti on the Autobahn. Felt a bit unstable on the front end and I ran into the rev limiter at the end [emoji15] I have to admit we were going slight downhill...[emoji6]

110 mph box stock. I installed anSC14 kit on my last AE86's old bluetop and went 118mph with it. After busting the stock 6.7:1 and installed a Hilux rear end with 4.1:1 gears, I went 128mph.

Admittingly very unstable against the wind with HR rated tires and worn shocks..... Tokicos, I think.

Knew someone that was able to do 60mph on 1st gear with his integra. The rolla owner was like I could barely do that on 6th gear

It should be pretty stable at 70. I can cruise at 75 no problem though it's a little loud.

i finally got my 20v running decent
i was on the highwaydownhill pedal to floor
and my snapchat caught 127mph
my damn 4.7 final i was just over 8k !

180kph on my blacktop hitting the speed limiter (downhill & quite unstable)
Both on Kumho ecsta 195/50/15 & stock gears.

My speedometer told me I was doing 110mph once. So I was actually probably doing like 85mph haha
