Dream Mods

Postby Clouds » Tue Aug 19, 2014 6:11 am

I live in a place where emissions aren't necessary and the only thing you can't do to a street car is to put Nitrous Oxide in it, so I wanted to know what some mods are that you would do to your car you would do if you had no restrictions (or money restraints)? :)

Now are you just trying to hear about peoples fantasy builds or are you looking for input on the best way to do your build because those will be two completely different conversations.

Blacktop head with 294ish cams, full P&P, over sized valves.
10k RPM and 30 PSI on something like a GT3076.

Surreptitious 2.0 - a 1983 AE71 2 door wagon fitted with a Toyota 4V (4V is the engine designation) 3.4 liter "Hemi" V8

Image

Here is the engine fitted inside a Corona - http://youtu.be/zdAcLYwJoFY - very mean sounding

2 guys lifting the 4V - http://youtu.be/_l3tupStBPA - (alloy block!)

I might fit it with a moderate supercharger... shoot for 350hp/350#/ft...

Don't waste your time with modified production... just drop in a
real racing engine and have something that sounds like this....

NA all the way :D

I dont believe in dream builds, because you eventually wake up :P

But im with jondee. A high revving, high torque race NA engine would be the ultimate if were talking fantasy here.

Yeah.. doesn't take a lot of imagination to transform the BMW in this
video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uC1v6fr7x8Y (crank the sound up)

...into something that looks like this AE86...

Image

All it takes is a Judd V8 3.4 litres 570 hp 10,000 rpm NA and a truck
load of cash. But that sound.... priceless :D

Well, if anything goes, then how about a brand new GT-S fresh off the assembly line? :D
I know there are no mods, but hey that's fine with me.

How about a JDM ae86 with a supercharged 20v straightpiped? My dream setup, but California says no. :(

You're a lucky man !!! I've never had the time. money or facillities to
build the various cars I have dreamed of, but I have to say that putting
a race engine into a road car has always been up there :) Something
like a de-tuned Cosworth DFV in any lightweight chassis. That would
have the sound and performance of a motorbike but still keep you dry
if it rained.

Round here it is very difficult to find parts for the 4V. Most people have
been using the UZ for quite some time, as they are readily available and
not expensive. Good luck with the build, I'm sure you will keep us posted
with your progress.
