Racing Seats!!!

Postby Puerto rico » Thu May 15, 2014 6:06 pm

I know there are topics on forums everywhere on this. And I know there are a lot of differing opinions but...

Which is better fake Bride seats from ebay $450
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SINGLE-BRIDE-VI ... 95&vxp=mtr

Real Sparco sets from ebay $330
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPARCO-R100-TUN ... c1&vxp=mtr

or just regular looking ebay seats with a brand on them $260 a pair
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NRG-PAIR-TYPR-R ... f0&vxp=mtr

im not cheap but I will not pay $1000 for a seat, logic would say go with the most expensive ones, but those are fake bride seats. Are the fake bride seats better than the NRG ones? I know the safest bet be would be the real Sparco but does anyone have personal experience with any? Please do not compare real bride seats here or anything over $600 here.

Im an average size guy looking for safe, confortable, good looking racing seats. Please help. Any other seat recommendations would be great too. Thanks

Don't buy a replica seat, harness or seat rail. I have sat in and tested many replica seats and all bar one flexed when I sat in them, let alone side loads from hard cornering or worse still an accident. Especially not if you can get a genuine Sparco seat for $330. I have a Sparco Evo2 fixed-back in my AE86 and it's awesome, easily the best fit for me and the quality is great.

I could never fathom using a replica seat for something so important in safety. I highly doubt any safety testing is performed on reps, and injury or death is not work skimping out on even if you do not run at the track.

Never get a replica, cheap, non-approve seat as they are.....well cheap in all aspects. Specially in safety! Just save alittle more for one seat as most entry level seats are affordable. But it is hard these days to know what size of a bucket seat as some people are bigger than most people on the bottom. I know the AE86 could use them as the OEM seats are just old, modly, lost their shape, tears, and not healthy for most.

Real Bride seats are only designed to handle an individual up to 175 lbs. Their old USA site had a very clear disclaimer stating this.

What's the max weight limit on the replicas?
