My dream roadtrip to Japan
Re: My dream roadtrip to Japan
well first we would have to engineer a multi billion dollar bridge that ranges from California to Hawaii then over the Pacific. this bridge would have to be engineered so there are rest stops, gas stations and even a workers lodge, where they either live for short periods of time or where there is a air lift section so workers can fly in and out. then comes the hardest part of making it so it can withstand mother nature. the bridges cant really be floating, and if it where suspended it might work, except when there are extreme storms. winds and waves pose the greatest danger to the bridge. so underwater might be the safest way. however you would probably ruin most sea life habitat around the area.
so your basically looking at
-a multi-billion dollar underwater bridge.
-potential for huge disasters and environmental damage.
-habitat damage from the presence of such a structure.
after all this then yea you can drive your LHD to japan. i'd be awesome. oh and BTW according to google driving a straight shot from California to Hawaii would be 2,467 miles then from Hawaii to Japan would be 4,108 miles, so you would better hope that bluetop, blacktop or what have you doesn't crap out on you. looks like its time to invest in amsoil 100,000 mile life oil.
or ship your car out to japan by a cargo ship.
