Great car, hope this finds a home that will continue to give it a long happy life.

I regret not buying this car every day man.. I looked at it years ago when it was owned by a kid down the road from me. From the looks of it the car has been kept in as nice of shape as it was when I looked at it years ago. I can attest that when it was here on the east coast it was one of the nicest stock 86's I'd ever seen. The car had 114k on it then and its apparently gotten nothing but love ever since! Good luck with the sale, hopefully it goes to a good home!

I passed the link along to the previous owner as I believe he's living out on the west coast now.

despite all the whining about pricing, I thought about buying this...
but, I made a life decision and used the cash for closing costs on a home instead.

That kinda put it all in perspective for me.

it's still nice, even though I dislike black cars. if I was thinking of buying (I'm pretty frugal), then someone else will be willing. hang in there.

yes... best "REAL" offer... (who knows if an offer is real until it is accepted) has been under $6000... I'm not willing to let it go that cheap. There are plenty of cheap beaters around.... not many GT-S that you could take your mom to church in

Hello, You need to let people know that this car has sustained a heavy rear end collision (information which you agreed with when I pointed it out to you) . I flew from the east coast to see this car and do not want anyone else to waste time and money.

well, that's extremely important information. anything else a potential buyer should know? what a shame to travel so far and find that out. that does explain the new paint, though.

VIN check also states front end collision with frame damage. You can also tell by engine bay picture.

Dated July 2013....

oldeskewltoy wrote:To try and answer some of your questions.

1) The A/C is installed, and complete, but none functioning. I've not even tried to diagnose it. With that said, put some freon in and see what happens.

2) I've owned the car for a little over 2 years now, so I do not know its entire history. Yes, there is some evidence of an accident earlier in its life (new fenders, some signs of repair) BUT the car drives straight, true, with no weird or unusually tire wear. This IS my wife's daily driver... I would NOT allow her to drive a dangerous car!

2a) The title is clear and good

Here is a pic from 2 years ago when we did a MAJOR service... t belt and tensioner, flushed brake fluid, installed plugs, wires, cap and rotor, axle bearings too

Image

I told Gareth all I knew... I did know it had been hit, and I said so... back in July. Gareth believes it was seriously hit in the back... I'm less sure it was a serious rear end hit. What Gareth is referring too is when the "B" pillar vents were pulled... he saw some repaired damage on each 1/4 over the wheel. Other damage on this car is some rad support repair and some "A" pillar repair on the passenger side. He commented that it had to be significant... but if it was... why does everything fit?

Image

Gareth has his panties in a twist because he flew out here wanting a steal... and when he felt it was no longer a steal... he got butt hurt. Gareth was so butt hurt he didn't even drive it... so he has no idea how it drives.

So... I posted 2 days after the initial post that there was evidence of an accident, I don't see how I misled anyone... but if you want to believe that I purposely misled this community... after being a part of it for 15 years.... be that as it may.

Still a very nice car despite the alleged damage.

Is asking price still $8,000 or has that changed?

Real classy. I wouldn't need to drive your car to know your car is no good either if I had saw the "true" condition of the chassis in person. Your car driving straight does not mean it's a clean chassis. No doubt you attempted to hide the actual condition of the car, I just didn't call you out on it. Like I said, VIN check your car and you will see in RED saying it has frame damage. You failed to disclose the damage of the car to me until I pointed it out to you from your pictures. I'm glad I didn't "seal the deal" with you for this car. Your 15 years in this community don't mean ****. You have zero credibility and your personality is disgusting.

By the way, your price AND your car... NOT a steal. Just a good parts car.

As much as Dan and I have our disagreements, Dan did provide information that he knew of about the vehicle. Sure, some people don't carfax their own cars due to many reasons; probably don't want to spend the $30.

But anyways, regardless if the frame has been damage, it's fixed but probably not originally 100% but then again it's a 25+ year old car. Even if you did buy another ae86, how do you know it wasn't reported damaged or frame was bent or warped, etc? Sometimes people don't report damage but they will fix it themselves. You don't know that.

For potential buyers, if you like the car, all you have to do is take it to a shop and have it checked out prior to buying it. You're already spending $8000, what's another few hundred to set your mind at easy on damage?

Can someone explain to me please why this car is worth 8000 when there seem to be similar condition cars on here and other places for 2500-4000? What if this car had 200k miles? Is 150k a stupid low amount of miles? Are the power windows and a sunroof and a fresh coat of paint worth that much more? Not trying to sound like a jerk, just curious about pricing one myself. Thanks!

Worth.... is a hemi cuda worth $2,000,000?

I'm asking the price I'm asking because this is as described a full option AE86, the interior is complete and intact... down to the rear parcel shelf. Also... this car is used EVERY day... this car doesn't fail in the rain, or if it is too hot. It works day in and day out - ALL the time!!! NOT all $2500-$4000 AE86 can you jump in and use as a daily... or take your mom for a ride and she will approve.

So is it WORTH it.... ask the person who buys it.....
