FS: 1986 True GTS - Testing Waters - Chino Hills

Postby kulitko » Tue Feb 12, 2013 11:21 am

Ok so after almost a year.... I have come to the conclusion that its time for me to sell the car. I bought the car completely gutted... But had a great engine and tranny, not to mention the car was pretty straight. I had high hopes of restoring it to its formal glory but have found the task to daunting. I tried but am getting to old for this kind of thing. So far to date this is what I have acquired and installed on the car:

PS. I will not part out - Also the car has only be driven about 100 miles since the install of all the components.....

Interior:
1. New Front un-torn GTS seats - Not installed
2. New Rear sets in immaculate condition - Not installed
3. New used black seat belts
4. New used black rear and front door panels
5. Uncracked Black Dashboard
6. A, B and C pillars for hatch
7. Rear hatch panels in new condition
8. Nardi steering wheel - Not installed - Has Nasty as MOMO right now
9. Speaker mounting box in new condition
10. Front under dash speaker covers in new condition
11. Glove box in new condition
12. Center console in new condition
13. Center arm rest with cup holder
14. Under dash trim new condition
15. Clock bezel
16. Clock
17. Dash vents in new condition
18. Drive and passenger side Kick panels In new condition
19. New front pillars
20. New Sun Visors
21. OEM Privacy Hatch Cover

Exterior:
1. OEM Hatch wing - Not installed
2. OEM side skirts with end caps - not installed
3. Driver and Passenger door shrouds
4. New Kouki Eylids - Not installed
5. New Kouki Corner lights - Not installed
6. New Door handels- Not installed
7. New window rubbers - not installed
8. New used USDM hatch tailghts and center garnish
9. New Used USDM front and rear bumpers
10. New Solex Locks - Not installed

Underneath the car:
1. Front and rear megan coilovers
2. New driver and passenger front control arms
3. New tie Rods
4. New Control Arm ball joints
5. New Adjustable Pan Rod
5. New CV boots
6. New Front an rear OEM Calipers
7. New Slotted rotors
8. New Brake Pads
9. New Stainless steel brake lines
10. New Upper and lower control arm Bushings
11.New sway bar bushings
12. Basically all bushings are new

Engine:
1. Stock 4age
2. New timing belt and water pump
3. OBX Headers
4. OBX Dual tip cat back exhaust
5. Paint engine bay black
Havent done too much to the engine because i was gonna swap a 3S on it hence the OBX system

Wheels:
Sits on some Riken deep dish wheels right now but have started to roll the fenders so I can install 15X9.5 (back) 15X9 (front) epsilon wheels. It has brand new falken stretched tires that have never been used

Cons:
1 .Radiator Leak - Theres a little hole in the radiator that I just noticed today.
2. No Carpets yet
3. Needs a paint job

So as you can see I have compiled a crap load of stuff but now would like to sell. I dont really have a number but I know I could get my money back if I part out which I do not want to do. I think it needs to go with the whole car.

So if anyone is interested in a good project let me know. Give me some offers and see if we can make a deal... No rush though..... Please dont make a 1 or 2K offer. Please be reasonable..........

If you have space and do not need the money, similar to what others suggested, just keep it and take your time. Many of us "old farts" contemplate on selling our 86's once in awhile; those who end up not selling it are glad that they didn't and those who sold it, commonly regret it.

No matter what kind of car it is, you will always have the urge to build one; hence why you see retired dudes in their 60's still wrenching on their classic cars. Might as well be an 86 as your classic car. :)

If you don't need to sell it put a cover on it and let it sit! Since being a member on here since late 1999, I must have walked away a good 3 or 4 times and sold 2 cars I wish I NEVER SOLD!!! I'm one of the "Old" guys, and I have the itch again. It will never go away. I can't count how many AE86's I have had but I can count how many flawless ones I have had and now both are GONE! So if you don't need the cash sit on it for a little while!! I REGRET selling mine, im pretty sure you will also. Good Luck either way, car looks great and the list is long. If you get 1-2k offers, post the names so we can all laugh and make fun of the people!! LOL
Peace ~ Tone

WTH!!! You just barely started this project and now you're selling it already!?? You know building an AE86 is like sex! You have to take your time with it, spend a little money here and there, be gentle when touching it, and most of all savor the moment once you've accomplished your task. In your case you got overly excited with it, got too rough with it, and then you abruptly came! The excitement level is down and now you're bored. Hold on to her. Trust me....you will miss the thrill of being pushed against the back of your seat when you let out her purrr!
