We know how awesome it is to hear your 4AGE or BEAMS engine at full song through ITB's. But doing it right requires a pretty decent investment in filtration (those sock filters aren't cutting it - minimum 6-10hp loss - as much as 20hp has been observed on the dyno in some cases!).

To help people do this right, we've slashed prices on our Pipercross and ITG backing plates!

Check out our store for pricing and application: http://shop.battlegarage-rs.com/collections/intake

Note: We no longer carry ITG filters anymore. We now know what kinds of power gains are possible with SQ Engineering's hand TIG welded 100mm velocity stacks - and they only fit behind our Pipercross filters shown below! Rather than limit our customers from upgrading to 100mm stacks, we've switched over entirely to Pipercross fully enclosed filters.

Also, check out how individual sock filters fail and get sucked into the engine over time. It's also easy to see how they really hurt power from lack of clearance between the stack and filter element.

Will the Pipercoss filter and/or backing plate come with the necessary hardware for installation?

Yes, it will come with the fasteners needed. Quick release of the filter element consists of proper race class DZUS 1/4 turn twist and lock fastener. We don't skimp.

Do you know if anyone has ever used these on beams 3sge using the Xcessive adapter? I think the TB spacing may be off from OEM by just a tiny bit.

BEAMS has different cylinder spacing. You could use the filter element with a blank backing plate (which we can supply) but we don't provide any finished backing plates for BEAMS yet.

The beams spacing is a bit different, but the adapters place the throttles very close to the stock 20v spacing so that all of the normal linkages/connections work properly. But looking at the wear marks on the adjustment screw contacts, it looks like the middle two might be just a mm or 2 off from where they are in a stock configuration. hmm. Would be interesting to find out. I wonder if I can find someone local who has one of these i could test fit.

Correct filters have a spring inside them. I dynoed mine, lost 6 hp over no filter, not 10.

Thanks for your feed back. Always good to have more data samples!

Do the Pipercross and IITG filters use a common backing plate or are the unique to each?
