This is a genuine Formula Atlantic head from Loynings, originally intended for the 2021 F/A champion. It was given to me when Loynings closed their doors. I have spent the last 18 months sourcing parts for this beast.
Here are some of the custom features to this head:
- Custom made 34mm intake valves, 28mm exhaust valves(stock are 30.5, and 25.5)
- Intake side follower bores have been increased from 28mm, to 30mm allowing for more stable intake valve operation
- Significant deshrouding to accommodate the larger valves
- Oiling modification for use with ARP studs
- Some coolant passages "opened up" for improved cooling
For valve adjustment: Intake side either Toda 10mm diameter shims, or Harley Davidson 10mm shims - some custom sizing may be required. On the exhaust side, a set of 1SZ shimless buckets.
The head was assembled using Supertech dual springs (inner spring can be eliminated if desired), and Supertech valve seals.
With the right cams, and short block this head is capable of 260+hp in an N/A application
