I was considering getting one of these. odd question but does it feel solid? I was thinking that a fiberglass dash wouldn't absorb sound and sound hollow. I was considering the carbon dash but I do not want something so freaking shiny in my face while I drive.

Get one an upholster it. That will take care of some noise and the shiny factor with either option, carbon or FRP

The FRP dash already has a vinyl covering like factory. I don't know if they put any foam underneath to deaden sound. I guess I could always put a little bit of dynamat underneath the dash.
