T50 transmission new??? too good to be true?

Postby pwnzone33 » Tue Dec 02, 2014 7:48 pm

I'm about to purchase an 85' sr5. My buddy is willing to sell me a bluetop 4age with HKS cams and other goodies, but I am lacking a transmission in my area. After hours of searching and searching I came across a "toyota overstock parts" website. There is absolutely no way a brand new t50 could exist???http://www.toyotapartsoverstock.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=488096&ukey_product=3914412

btw.. 33110 is the WHOLE t50 while 33110k is a gasket kit (according to this website).

I just want opinions on this because this is kinda sketchy and could be total BS.

If you tried to order it, you'd probably get a "discontinued" message. Lots of sites (Amayama, in my experience) list a price and allow you to add to basket/submit a query, but you won't get further than that. Though if it's a common part on lots of models you have a better chance.

I'd be surprised if you could find a "new" one. Maybe new old stock exists somewhere.

931$ for a brand new t50 tranny is a steal....... i cost me well over 1500$ for parts and labor to get mine rebuilt last year

Hmmm... only issue I see besides availability is the model years... likely means its a 20 spline output, the AE86 used a 22 spline output. But find an earlier splined driveshaft and have a driveline shop swap yokes
