So I recently pulled a motor from a AE92 GTS and I'm wanting to convert it to a RWD motor. But I had a few questions on this.

1) would I be able to use a T-50 tranny from a 3-TC motor? Or would I need a bell housing off a 4-AC/4-AG?

2) would motor mounts from a 3-TC block work on the 4-AG? Or could I use the 4-AC motor mounts from a AE-71 corolla?

3) would I be able to use the AE92 wiring harness and ecu?

I currently have a RWD intake manifold and throttle body and a RWD water pump. What else would I need to make this a complete RWD conversion?

1) there are 2 types of T50 transmissions... early(20 spline output), and later(22 spline output). Sometime during the early 1980s was the change. So when you buy a T50, you might want to bring along the yoke and make sure it fits the T50 you buy. Concerning bellhousings, you will need to use a bellhousing designed for the "A" engine. It is easier to use a 4AG bellhousing, but a 4AC can be used with a little creative clutch plumbing solutions (custom bent hardline, flexline with a banjo bolt - I've done it - it works fine)

2) You will need mounts from an "A" engine... the 4AC ones MAY (should) work...

3) The AE92 harness is designed for an entirely different fit. You MIGHT be able to remove the harness wrappings, and get it to fit... but I have not yet seen it done. There are a few folks around who do make custom harnesses

Do you have all the other parts of the coolant plumbing? coolant outlet, and inlet, transfer tube(2" one that transfers coolant between the head and the waterpump), back of the head outlet, plumbing/piping that goes from the back of the rwd waterpump to the back of the engine.

I would also recommend an AE86 4A-GE RWD Alternator Bracket with adjuster (alternator too, if available)...........you might be able to use the ae92 alternator.

Note that you need an adapter plate (T3 or similar) to match the
TVIS RWD manifold to the non-TVIS smallport head. Without an adapter
plate you will have a huge vacuum leak.

A while back I used an AE92 harness in an AE86, and I had to extend
every wire as the harness would not reach to the stock ECU location.
This was on RHD cars. You might get a bit closer with LHD cars, but
do a bit of measuring before you decide what to do. Most of the plugs
on the AE92 harness are different from the the AE86 plugs, including
the ECU plugs, so make sure you get the third dash harness plug to go
with the AE92 ECU.
