I pulled my oil pan to tap for another oil drain.

I found lots of metal shavings so I took a look at the bearings and it didn't look good.
The connecting rods didn't have bearings at all and are damaged very badly.
Also looks like the crank and rods are damaged.

So my question is can I use the Connecting rods and crank out of a 4ag 7 rib big port
In the GZE block? I've also got a 3 rib big port 4ag.

If you take the time to read the invaluable information contained within
this... http://www.club4ag.com/technical_main.htm informative site, you
will see that there are only two 4AGE cranks. Essentially (hair splitting aside)
the 3-rib blocks had 40mm dia big end crank pins and 18mm dia piston pins.
The later model 7-rib blocks (including all GZE blocks) had 42mm dia crank
pins and 20mm dia piston pins.

Either crank will fit in any 4AGE block, but the rods have to match the crank,
and the pistons have to match the rods. So out with the verniers and check
the crank pins in your spare 7-rib block. If it is a 42mm dia crank, then you
can use that and the rods in your GZE block.

would be a bit easier to put the gz pistons in the other block, IF it has 20mm connecting rods.

Yes. If you use the 20mm rods the GZE pistons will be plug and play (assuming everything is in spec). If you use the 18mm rods the GZE pistons are not a practical option.
