How do you adjust timing for the 4ag? I bought a timing light and I'm not sure exactly how to use it. Are you suppose short a terminal first? If so which connection and where is it? Any help will be appreciated.

I took a picture of the yellow connectors. Still not sure which connector it is and where to short.

clip to the #1 cylinder put the power directly to the batery. aim the light at your timing marks on the lower timing cover and you will see the timing line. it will apear when the light flashes. if you cant see it then get a white paint pen, some nail polish or even white out will help you see the mark on the crank. also there is a terminal that you need to jump. when its jumped it should be set to 10 deg. it should jump back to 16 deg when you remove your jumper wire. yes there is a yellow connector that you need to jump but im not sure which one it is since i have a kouki. google might help tho

Are the check connectors the 2 yellow behind the intake manifold? The service manual doesn't tell you the location of the check connector.

It's the smaller 2 pin connector (T and E1 terminals). The cel will flash on/off when you are in test mode. Pages EM-37 and EM-38 of the service manual for ignition timing: http://www.hachiroku.net/downloads/4AGManual.pdf
