OK guys, Engine was fully rebuilt with EVERYTHING NEW and properly sealed no leaks, no smoke on low or high revs, nothing to give a hint you can just smell the oil inside the car after 15 minutes of engine running. I'll say again every seal and gasket was brand new when rebuilt and even the valves seals are new. I'm using 20w 50 grade oil mainly because I'm in the Caribbean and is always hot down here and secondly because the engine runs a lot for extended periods of time. But trying to figure out what is wrong? Any heads up?

A quart every two weeks.......... I'm thinking maybe one of the valve seals........

Is this a rebored engine with new oversized pistons ?

no is got the Std. size pistons one the block only received a honing. And the thing is its only used 2-3 times a week. And you can just smell the oil cooking itself....... but it's not visible.

How much is 2 weeks??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Also, it is never from valve stem seals!

Did you rebuild it or did you get it done professionally?
How was it honed? How was it measured? Were the pistons and bores in spec?
Are you positive the oil rings were installed properly? It's is not too hard to mess them up.

if it isn't leaking... and it isn't being sucked down a valve stem.... it has to be the oil control rings

aprox. 10 engine hours every two weeks......the funny thing is that it started over month 1/2 ago at first it was fine



this picture was taken during the rebuild process...what do you guys think? they oem blacktop pistons and the rings were new...... is it possible the c/r could bust them? this engine is lil bit over 13 can't remember right know and yes it uses 100 octane gas and the engine runs a little rich

and if it was the rings I should be able to see the smoke???

honestly I was not there that day so I can't confirm it. I'll just go ahead and buy new rings if that's the case...... The rings were installed properly that I'm sure. What went wrong I would like to know since I'm yet to know all their is about these engines.

What's the compression?
Any of the plugs look oiled or all equal?

No secrets. There's zero difference, especially in this area, between it and any other internal combustion engine, diesels included, Wankels excluded.

Oil rings are difficult to F'up, so I'm guessing that a 2nd ring is broken or upside down.
Forget the hone plate stuff.

I think the piston rings are not seated properly yet. Try using straight SAE 30 weight oil only for 3000 miles and it should do the trick. Do not use synthetic during this break-in period.
