I have a ae86 that starts but it just takes a bit of cranking for it to start idling? It doesn't sound too healthy when it's idling either. What can i do?

I press the gas a couple of times when I try to start it because i heard it's good for the carb.

Could be many reasons. Check your timing. Have you got a clean air cleaner element and new spark plugs? Could be a cracked vacuum line somewhere. How does it run once you are warmed up and going down the road?
