10.92 at the track

Postby SiLeNcEbOnE » Mon Sep 10, 2018 8:04 pm

Just wanted to share this youtube video with you guys
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-Tg9UDBVMs&t=0s

My build was posted here
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=21810

It made 446hp at 32psi on e98.
Had to swap over the 1nz coils.
Using k20 coils and had no more misfires.

while 446hp from a 1.6L might seem amazing...... power is waaayyyyy down
a bigaz 62mm @32psi + 11.0:1 compression ratio + E98 = hi 6-700 hp territory

AE92 & AE86 same ET with roughly same power 8:1 & 55mm turbo.... full weight street cars tho

main thing is he got this project up n running, puttin it down.... loaded with potential imo

I wonder where you get those numbers from.
I mean I've seen loads of dynos of these engines and no where the numbers that you mention with stock head.
600-700hp holy ****...
I have seen 600-700hp 4age that had fully build engines. Meaning oversized valves, springs, camshafts etc...
And a whole lot more boost.
Some of them even running on methanol.
This is a stock 16v head. There was nothing what so ever done to the head. This engine only has a forged rods and pistons.
And it's still stock bore. The pistons are not oversized pistons. They are 81mm pistons.

I've seen b18 or k20 engines get 700-800hp on 30psi.. But those are far bigger engines compared to 4age engines...
And this is the 1st time out with the car. We only got 4 passes with all the delays that was happening.
There are still stuff to be adjusted on the car and the ecu itself.

numbers from numerous other examples. You'd struggle to find 62mm 32psi 11:1 examples at 450hp
its not a 1.6 thing as 62mm D16s put up same 6-700 as any make 1.8, 2.0, etc. Its a stock 4AGE headflow thing, was the point
it is what it is. Sure u can drive in nails with a 6 pound sledge, but....
nothing what so ever done to the head

as i asked in your build thread, ... does that mean tired old stock valvesprings too ? Just curious

will b interesting to see gains from a cammed up built head - hp & ET.... and if u run into the same 4age limits folks mentioned

As was mentioned in the build thread nothing was done to the head.
Yes same stock valve springs. If they were tired and old I highly doubt they would of handled 32psi.
Strange huh?

And because it has high comp pistons big turbo and running on e98 doesn't mean it's suddenly going to make 300-400 more hp compared to low com pistons, average size turbo and on gas or c16 or something...
If it did more people would of done the same.

yeah, but are they "handling" it. Guy with the awesome 10sec AE92 Levin mantioned above, thought so too. Started with bone stock 20V head
read half way down the page: http://forums.toyspeed.org.nz/viewtopic ... &start=100
this guy turned down his boost, made more power: http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/thread ... -and-Boost
last post by a superb ca18, rb tuner: https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/471 ... e-springs/
Countless info on the net about boost vs valvespring. Why?

cyl head gonna dictate your power. In the past, hi compression turbo builds targeted response & low boost efficieny
Dunno whats up these days. From reading, not all combustion chamber designs will benefit from that as others
If it did more people would of done the same

most travel the beaten path, to keep it simple, while achieving their max goal with the min input
Like the two 10sec street cars mentioned, plus a 1.6 MR2 8:1 gt30 25psi that went 10.6
u obviously got bigger fish to fry, with a substantially more aggresive goal & setup

this is the 1st time this car has been at the track in years.
That was the 4th pass ever on the new setup.... we are still lowering that 60ft...
so based on your opinion.. i should of done a 9 sec pass in the 1st hit?
have you build your own or are you just stating your opinion based on what others build?
Because this is the 1st high comp build we did...
we already had other 10 sec 4age 20v cars running 30+psi of boost on stock valve springs and low comp pistons...(supercharged block)
those were all 60mm turbo and vp c16... we went bigger to see how it would respond...

why make foolish assumptions ? ...when its sooo much easier to simply ask you your goal... as I did in your build thread
I try to stick to facts

and yes I do draw my own conclusions based on what others(& yourself) has experienced. Most wise, saves money
For me, a more conventional 4agte build is as far as I'll go. Too many failures of the hi strung builds
55mm ~25psi ~7500rpm, preferably on a gze bottom - full street AE hatch with ac. Chase a hi 10sec timeslip and I'm done with that car
Got better platforms to throw (less)money at if I wanna go really fast AND stay together... ca18, 4g63

always like to c a crazy 4AGE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v7Bv2Ewe4E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNcyB8lM11o
looks like 4088 @35psi, 1260cc, catcams, supertech springs, megasquirt

oh nooo, sir. NOT mine. Boosted street 4AGE is the end of the line for jinx
that grey datsun looks like some next level chit..... bOne(thread starter) probably headed in that direction
people do mean things to that poor lil 1.6 :)

been seeing these sorta builds
precision 62, on a built mazda 1.6L bottom end + stock head(except valvesprings). I believe he mentioned 547hp?
says another head being built up, with cams etc..
Very similar recipee to the 4agte featured at start of the thread
