Car won’t idle
Hey guys, I have a big port that won’t idle..can keep it running w giving it gas but dies after letting off. Replaced fuel filter just for good measure as I just got the car. Did plugs. Could it be a ground issue? I checked the COR and it gives power to the fuel pump for a quick second then the light goes out on my test light. I have power to the fuel pump constantly while running. Don’t have any vacuum leaks that I can see. Any ideas?

Check engine ground on intake manifold. But it really sounds like the IACV on the throttle body is not working.
Stock Engine, Wiring, Sensors? are they all there?
check the screw on the throttle body?
for the bare minimum of vacuum lines, FPR, Charcoal can, everything else blocked.
I do recommend a download of the service manual.

Isn’t the ground on the intake for the injectors? The one where the harness goes in between the head and the manifold?
Re: Car won’t idle
There are two adjustments for the idle. First there is a black plastic cap on the TB to adjust air and the 2nd is the set screw on the TB shaft, to adjust the butterfly opening. [needs a 3mm allen wrench to adj]

So last night I took out the TB and took off IACV and cleaned them out. Reassembled and this time the car idled for 3-4 seconds then died again. Has no problem running w gas although I was losing throttle response after letting off the gas as it was getting ready to die out. I adjusted the air screw but it didn’t seem to make a difference.

Why replace ecu? Not like I have one laying around...lol
I have throttle response, can keep engine speed going but once I let off it dies out then it’s hard to try and get throttle response back.

If your IACV has not been disabled (that is, still has the two water hoses connected) then
on cold start the idle should go high (around 2000rpm) and slowly come down to normal
idle as the engine warms up. If it does not do that, then the valve is not working. Read
about it here... viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12013&p=79892#p79892

Re: Car won’t idle
Does the engine have an Air flow meter? Verify that it is grounded. I believe it has a square brown connector by the exhaust manifold/under the brake booster. If that is not plugged in, your car will start up but then die.
