Hey guys,

I searched and didn't find an answer to this question...

can i run the megasquirt (or any standalone, for that matter) without a DLI? using a crank trigger wheel and EDIS?

if i have a DLI, do i need a crank trigger wheel?

i'm building a 4A for my starlet, coil-on-plug.

thanks in advance!
Joel

Yes you can run MS and most standalones off a crank trigger

Yes Megasquirt 2 , micro squirt and MS3 will work with DLI

Megasquirt is easy, it will need to be modded to run COP. And if you want sequential you'll need a can signal as well as crank.

I'm currently running ms2 v3 with EDIS. Extremely simple to set up. Properly set up you don't need the edis controller for COP. What makes the biggest difference is version of ms and smart or dumb coils.

Megasquirt is a family of ECUs. There are several versions with different capabilities.
Saying "will megasquirt do this" is like saying "will enkeis fit my car?".
The answer is, it depends on the model.

So what would you like to accomplish and what megasquirt are you looking at?
