T3 velocity stack question on BT

So I have the option to use T3 75mm stacks or the stock stuff on my BT

was messing around with the T3 stacks and how in the world do they expect you to install them correctly when using those UNI filters? First off the stack have open ended bolt holes so you have to some how line them up with the ITB opening correctly other wise you'd end up with an overlap which doesn't seem very good for air flow.

You can't line the openings up with the filters on and you can't put the filters on after you've installed the stacks....

SO how the F do people use these things efficiently?

Use a big pipercross or similar filter rather than the sock filters. Filtration which isn't restrictive is all about surface area.
Also, I'm not a fan of T3 stacks (or most of their products to be frank).

i originally had that big ITG filter but I could not make it fit in the mr2 engine bay.

is there an alternate stack that is the same style but fits better?

I had a big Pipercross in my MR2 with SQ Engineering trumpets: http://shop.battlegarage-rs.com/collect ... ity-stacks

If you'd like, I can draw up some to the exact dimensions you like and we can 3d print them out of nylon. These are what I have on the car now.

guess i'm not prepared to spend a bunch more on this at the moment.

i think I have an idea for now to get it to work right and maybe i'll upgrade or change it in the future.

finding any information on people using these is like a needle in a haystack...pretty much anything dealing with 20v and MR2 MK1s is the same way anymore.

Really?!
When I sold my MR2 20Vs were rather popular. I've had a few of them. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.

Sadly both mr2 forums are pretty much dead, especially in the mk1 areas. Even the mr2 facebook groups are devoid of anything mk1

I hate that everyone has moved to facebook which I believe is the main thinhg that has killed the forums but there are a number of MK1 based FB groups.

Heck if anything I wish they would start consolidating them but I guess everyone thinks they need to start their own.

Yes i know about those but they are so mk2 oriented that anything else false on deaf ears and unlike forums, people act like jerks and are not helpful at all.

yoshi, you are like forum king of helpfulness among a few others. Past info is so old, dead links, dead photos,, that even things, like the 20v swap, are now more difficult. The info out there is just poor, incomplete, old, and/or unhelpful. (talking the mr2 forums here)

It isnt so straight forward anymore.

Yeah it does suck. It's getting harder and harder to find info. The demand is less and less too. Two years ago when I couldn't find enough work I would have been stoked if I could have pulled together some crowd funding or something to spend more time collecting information and adding content to my site and updating elsewhere like here but the few times I tried to motivate something like that I got a depressing amount of support.

All of the FB links I pasted though are either solely for MK1 or primarily MK1 or 4AGE related.
I do hate the general MR2 groups though. They are all SW20 owners and most are so presumptuous they can't even be bothered to say what they have when asking questions. Drives me crazy.

I came up with a solution.

I got some gasket material made a template, and made gaskets to put between the stacj and the intakes and i was able to mark them in a way that allowed me to line them up properly.

Working like a charm and i fixed my high idle issues. Only issue i need to figure out is the ac idle up. Car wants to die when it is on and stopped.
