injector help

Postby supo4 » Wed Feb 04, 2015 1:00 pm

so guys i am getting all the odds and end together to reassemble my 86 4age motor and one of the things i was going to replace is the injectors and guess what the guys at yota have done, they have discontinued the series of injectors so does anyone have a brand of injectors they know/trust that i can get to run a stock fuel pump rail and will not be a problem with my stock computer

Send your injectors out to a reputable shop like RCI or Witchhunter to be cleaned. If any of your injectors are beyond help peeps here have spares sitting around. I know I have 16 or 20 of them.

I did some research last year and it seems that the 85 & 86 Camry and the 7MGE Cressida and Supra use a low impedance injector in the 185-195 cc/min range, so that might be helpful if you can find some in a junkyard.

They even fit in the fuel rail!

I remembered to get the connectors, too.

Are the injectors in the '86 that low in flow? I thought they were the same through '87, 210cc min flow.

I have no idea but I just wanted to get new injectors for the car. So I did and I put it all back together and now it will run fine like a top but as soon as it gets warm it starts to bog down until death. I got remanned injectors if that means anything and any ideas on what is going on

So my car will run for a min or so but it will pop like there is a small vac leak or something. Then out of nowhere almost it starts to bog down and then go back to idle. It will do that a series of times then die and if I start it back right after it does this it will bounce rpm up and down and then die

Check your fuel pressure, should be around 43 PSI, I would also change the fuel filter and a really good check of the vacuum hoses. Dave W
