Bad vvt solenoid?

Postby OooDangMark » Sat Apr 19, 2014 9:24 pm

So I've been having this bogging issue with my 20v BT changed every spark component and still bogged. So today I checked my vvt solenoid and it had oil where the pin connects. So I cleaned it and ran two wires to it power and ground and it didn't kick on. So I left it unplugged and my car ran fine no bogging issue at all. So my question is would a bad vvt solenoid cause my bogging issue? Order a new one hopefully when I replace it the bogging issue will not return. Anyone run across this problem?

Thanks guys

With my VVT sensor the housing was leaking, but i didn't have any bogging at all.

A new one isn't extremely expensive, about $90 i guess? So worth trying imo!
