After the "H" is a "z".

I just acquired an 87 FX16 a while back and here are a few specifics:
The AE87G in the VIN is the Vehicle Description Section, which is unique to each
manufacturer (digits 4-8). Likely the first 3 digits for your VIN are 1NX, the World
Manufacturer Information. Digit 9 is a check digit, you can do the long hand version
found on some websites to check it. The 10th and 11th digits are the year and
manufacturing location, HZ in your case. The H being 1987 and the Z being New
United Motors Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI) in Fremont, CA. The last six digits
are the unique serial number for your vehicle.
The FX16 is an AE82 as already noted.
Much of the other information you've already located or the guys have provided.
Be prepared that it will be hard to find parts for your car. If you go to a Toyota
dealer and they enter your VIN, the parts system won't recognize it and many of
the illustrations won't be accurate. And as you explore parts sites on the web or
in the stores, e.g. Autozone or NAPA, their systems also won't be accurate. The
FX16 was only produced for two years, 1987 and 1988 and a lot of the information
didn't get picked up in the Toyota conversion to computers and hence, all systems
that work off that universally. It may be different in other countries, but watch
out for parts than might seem or claim to be for the FX16, because they often
are not.
