Turbo 4AGE 20V Silvertop!

Postby tristan582 » Mon Apr 14, 2014 8:03 pm

So i finally have my 20v running smooth as ice! Damn map sensor. It is in my aw11. I love the power and response but am looking for just a tad more. Nothing major. Under 10lbs of boost. I heard that silvertops handle boost better than blacktops? Any truth to this? The car is running a blacktop ecu, aluminum flywheel and nice stage 3 clutch. I don't to build a monster car. No huge horsepower gains, just something to add a little more to this car. Will stock internals hold boost? Along with stock ecu? Sorry for the many questions! thanks for all and any help

I have no first hand experience. But all the research I have done tells me that the ST rods are a little bit more resilient. I have seen 5 to 7 lbs is safe. No idea on the ecu.

Silver top engine are very stout from factory . you will be just fine. Depending on what turbo and amount of boost you run, you may be Able to use the sto k engine and ecu with just a FMU for fueling.
