93 SC400 lighting woes

K gang, I have an annoying problem. The rear turn signals on my SC don't function properly. On a zenki SC there are 3 1157 bulbs across the yellow lens in the tailight. Well if I have all 3 bulbs in there, they won't light up instead the brake lights under me come on. If I run just 1 bulb, it works but blinks fast because there are two missing. I left the hazards on to test. The one bulb os bright, add a second or third and the filament only barely glows a touch.

I think the issue is something to do with series vs parallel but my electrics smarts are rusty.


The other issue is the rear light warning light is always on, but the 3rd brake light is missing so I will replace that and that should be fixed.
