Hi,
I currently have a sprinter carib bz-touring 98 with a 6 speed c160 nonlsd. Problem is... the 3rd gear synchro is starting to go.. and its becoming a pain to drive. I was thinking of replacing the entire gearbox completely and was wondering if i could just buy a c60 (as they are way more common and newer) and just switch bellhousings to fit my 4age bt instead of trying to find a rare overpriced c160. Can the c160 axles fit in the c60 and is it just a case of switching bellhousings or should i just cut my losses and wait for a c160.

If you get past the bellhousing part. I think taking the axles to an axle guy could be able to hybrid them.

So the axles are definitely different and can't be interchanged? If thats the case I'll wait out for a cheap c160.

Why not just have the c160 rebuilt, it shifts a lot crispier than the c60 and doesn't have the reverse gate issues.
