TE72 coupe suspension

Postby bombapinoy » Thu Oct 03, 2013 2:39 pm

I was just wondering if the ae86 coils for the rear would be the same for the rear. I know we share the same panhard and 4 links and I'm already running the ae86 rear tokico shocks. So I'm assuming if I get ae86 coils they should be a direct fit right?

Thanks man! Yeah I was about to order a set of 86 rear coils. Cuz I know since I have the 80 corolla the 86 fronts won't fit :(

Yea u have to order the right top hats/camber plates t3 has em, I think there were 3 different styles so make sure u measure and ull be A O K ;), rears are perfect fit but also do u plan on doing coil on shock coilovers, or coilover sleeve And shock separately for the rears? Cuz if u go like t3 has all in one id highly suggest doing welds to the top where it bolts up, just for security, I did in my old ae worked great! If u go megan or greedy then ur ok.

I'm not quite sure yet. It's just a plan for the near future. But I'll most likely get the coil on shock since it would be easier to lower or raise the car up than doing it twice.

I have ae86 front coils in my te72.... You'll need to reuse the TE tophats or source some aftermarket ones from t3 or something....and since the spindle is slightly longer on the ae strut or coil overs your using you will need to used ae86 vented rotors and change to ae86 callipers and pads. Make sure you get the dust shield off the ae too since it has the calliper mounting bracket built into it as weLl. Zero custom fab or cutting, just gotta source some extra ae parts
