Re: 20v swap just cranks
Take the distributor off and if you grab a voltmeter you can actually spin the distributor by hand and get voltage pulses. AFAIK there isn't a usdm part, if anything maybe some 4AFE junk? I gotta find a wiring diagram, but all the pickups are just coils so you spin the rotor and you'll produce an an...

There is a relay behind the glove box, up and to the right like underneath the dash board and above the ECU. It is a black relay with a yellow connector with 5 wires going to it. Unplug the connector from the relay, grab a peice of wire. Jump/connect the BLK/RED wire and the BLU/BLK wire. The BLK/RE...

Even with a warped head, the engine will still run. I know you said you tried this, but start with the basics. Pull a plug, put it in the wire, and hold the tip of the plug against one of the valve cover nuts. Do you have spark? If so move on. Grab a can of brake cleaner/parts wash. Have a friend cr...

Doesn't really matter where on the trans, you can use one of the rubber mount bolts or the clutch slave bolts.
You should have:
Engine block to driver frame rail
Cylinder head to firewall
Trans to firewall or bottom chassis

If you want to mess with and dial in your track width in front, you really need to shell out the cash for some LCAs with an adjustable heim joint at the subframe end. My Levin was set up: T3 LCAs +45mm each side 14x9 -16 SSR w/ 1" aluminum spacers T3 knuckles T3 outer tie rods T3 Camber plates ...

I've used a 4.7 final in all my corollas. It's a night and day difference. Highly recommend it. Freeway driving blows though so have a good mixtape selection on hand because you will make new friends with the truckers in the slow lane. MFactory made an longer 5th gear that I was selling at one point...

This looks like it would float your boat: http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/category/Naca_Ducts2 The stock filter is more dense/better filtration than an aftermarket K&N deal. It's a trade off, better filter less flow OR more flow less filter. Youre thinking down the right path though of feedin...

With the factory LSD or non-LSD rear end you can use just about any 75w90 or 80w90. Some of us drift guys or dudes in the desert run 80w140. It's a little thicker for the hotter temps. It's just a viscosity. Acts like a 80 cold, acts like a 140 hot. For an aftermarket LSD or one that chatters I woul...

do you have premium coverage on your corolla?? If you have more than basic liability (15/30/5), this stuff is covered. It's part of your comprehensive insurance that you choose as an option. This isn't "show car/classic car insurance". This is insurance every company offers. "Covers ...

Re: Cusco Parts
From my experience, I would rather buy Battle Version or T3 than Cusco. All the suspension stuff I've bought from Cusco has gone bad. The threads are real soft and if you adjust your parts a lot, like the caster rods, the threads junk up or get corroded. It's super lightweight and looks perty, but i...

That corolla up in NorCal got jacked for the knock off longchamps on it and was found only missing the wheels. They suspect it may have been someone they know as they knew all the owners "kill switch" methods. If I had a Honda, I would be worried. These are corollas, pretty small community...

I'm going to side with the OP. Super vague. A work plaza in LA where I work. For all we know, the guy was there meeting someone one time only. This could literally be anywhere. And as I've said before, corollas rarely start when you want them to let alone for a theif.

Running the JSP mod 20v head with 16v TRD headgasket and 16v water pump. I've got some ching-chong Koyo knock off with twin 10" fans. Runs really cold too, like 1/3 temp. It's running colder than I like but come summer time when it's 100+F here and I'm on the track she will be cooler than Fonzy...

4AFE map here. Works fine. Swapped between a real BT 20v map and the 4AFE Tercel one, no difference. Just make sure the plug on the harness is pinned correctly for a BT 20v.

Re: Can i use this oil pump on my 20V Blacktop?
20v's are great engines, there is just very little info on them here stateside. Most people get frustrated with them and toss them away. They are super reliable and just about all of the 20v parts can be found here by cross referencing parts. The knock sensor is the same as a 2JZ or one of those 4AF...

Re: Can i use this oil pump on my 20V Blacktop?
I've retained the AE86 tensioner with the spring and block pin for the spring. If the timing belt needs to flex, I want the belt tensioner to take up the slack. I don't like the idea of a solid tensioner as any tension applied to the belt is a stretch force on the timing belt. I would rather have th...

Re: jdm bumper skin?
A bumper skin is the plastic outer shell, its the part that everyone wants. The actual BUMPER is what takes the blunt of the damage, often called a bumper support.
It's the same thing. Like header vs exhaust manifold. The OEM parts catalog just calls them a "skin".
