Re: brake lights are on when car is off
AFAIK, if that switch loosens up the lights won't turn on, so the odds are it is jamming or failing internally. I think I'd just replace it to make sure. 28? years on a "floor" switch must just be enough. Shouldn't be expensive. funny you say that red i was thinking the same thing lol i d...

Re: brake lights are on when car is off
There is a little rubber grommet on the pedal that meets with the switch, if that grommet is missing your lights will stay on all the time. Maybe yours fell off or something? http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab106/smokescreen91/mqgg6QfwJ4rfbphpFm9rung_zps02f6a364.jpg hmm got a bigger picture? i c...

Re: brake lights are on when car is off
check the switch at the pedal. Unplug it and see if the brake lights turn off. might just be some dirt in the switch or the wires could be shorting. I did just that and made sure the button that meets the pedal wasn't stuck, they turn off now so that's good im glad it's nothing else i'll keep an ey...

Re: Tapping into 4AGE block for water feed/return
It would be nicer to pickup coolant from the block rather then stuff already heated up in the head. true but would it really matter that much? some ppl get away without running coolant and have no issues it would be convenient from the back of the block so you wouldn't have to run lines from the in...

Re: Tapping into 4AGE block for water feed/return
The water lines are primarily to prevent long term coking of the oil and this is the worst on shut downs. If you are religious about letting the car cool down before turning it off you will have less to worry about. If you don't mid risking blocking off the oil passages in your turbo some day go fo...

Re: Tapping into 4AGE block for water feed/return
If you use the iacv/throttle body lines make sure hard lines aren't gummed up (common problem). I'd do what the guy above said and use the old heater feed/return points for the turbo. I'd personally go with a turbo that's oil cooled only for simplicity, but that's a subjective thing. It's probably ...

Re: Tapping into 4AGE block for water feed/return
I teed into my heater lines. Since you aren't running a heater why not just devote that whole circuit? If I was in your place I'd probably weld or braze AN fittings where the heater hoses connected. that could happen, the heater lines run to the back of the block correct? I never had heater so I re...

Tapping into 4AGE block for water feed/return
I don't have heater or A/C. Was wondering where most people tap into the block for coolant for turbo lines.

Re: AE86 exhaust underaxle or overaxle
^Oh yeah, I forgot about the slip fit. That cbe also has a bend under the axle which is the lowest point in the system. I assume they did that for extra clearance with shock stroke. didn't realize i butchered that sentence so bad. I meant when it's an under axle catback/exhaust sometimes after drif...

Re: AE86 exhaust underaxle or overaxle
Biggest problem with most under axle cbe setups...the axle housing will rest on the exhaust when you jack the car up and let the rear suspension droop. If you're careless and don't unhook the cbe in this case bad things can happen. I've seen an ae86 with a tear in the floor where the exhaust hanger...

AE86 exhaust underaxle or overaxle
Which one do you prefer and why? I was looking into getting a catback for my new setup but can't make up my mind if i should go with underaxle or overaxle. Man Dave I just sold a carbon fiber HVAC delete cover that takes the place of the whole HVAC panel, console, ashtray, and lighter plug. I was going to poke holes in it for gauges but I went another route. I sold it for a lot less than I paid, too. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzY4WDEwMjQ=/$(KGrH...

Maybe this should be a no-brainer but i was trying to come up with something i can use to hold gauges in place where the ac panel goes, i had found this plastic around the house and cut out holes but couldn't get it to work or look as good as these, has anyone else done some that came out good? have...
