Re: Restoring AE86 w/ 4AGE 16v + HKS ITB + Haltech E6X

my solder from lowes has a melting point close to 500F, with heat shrink and/or electric tape, it would be extremely difficult for temps in the bay to get that high. I can not imagine a scenario where the solder would melt. Just my 2 cents! Flush looks like it went well!

Re: Restoring AE86 w/ 4AGE 16v + HKS ITB + Haltech E6X

Finally caught up reading the additions to your thread and back to your wiring issue: Why don't you get a good soldering iron and learn to solder? The work is more involved but You won't have any more complaints about wiring being sub par and it'll make the compartment much cleaner looking. If you w...

Re: Fuel Lines to -6 AN

Make sure you're using the right size compression fitting too! I used them on the hard pipe near the motor and found out that the two hard pipes are different sizes AFTER buying the fittings. I believe the one was 5/16 and the smaller was 1/4, but that's off memory do your research. I found it when ...

Re: My recap and ongoing final stretch of building my Hatch

I gotta give credit where credit is due: JDM86GTZ was spot on in going with the stainless braided lines earlier in this build. This has been an easy and gratifying project after switching to braided hose instead of hardline. I couldn't sleep last night so I finished up the rest of the lines with the...

Brake parts came in today and my god is this stuff expensive! I don't have everything but It'll get me close. I got 50 ft of stainless braided hose and assorted fittings and adapters that I thought I'd need to get this done. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/921/qY9Fzq.jpg The brake and cl...

Re: My recap and ongoing final stretch of building my Hatch

Well we (Grant and I) found that the reason that we weren't getting it to turn over was the tooth angle and offset. It takes a few tries for it to start but I think that is just a tuning issue. I'm also getting a consistent 12.1 AFR which is pretty rich so I definitely need to get my map tuned prope...

Re: 20V BT Timing light not flashing...

So the problem was found to be with the Haltech. BGRS is investigating. I'm going to try and change the filter options tonight and see if that changes something. With the factory ECU, she fired right up and the timing light worked great.

Re: My recap and ongoing final stretch of building my Hatch

Thanks Grapple! The coolant hoses are done and mounted and the system is filled. Per the install guide, I tried to sync the timing of the car with the Haltech. I couldn't get a consistent spark when cranking and I thought maybe it was a weak signal or a shitty timing light. I got it to what I though...

20V BT Timing light not flashing...

Currently trying to sync my Haltech ECU timing to the cars and I'm having issues. I bought a timing light from autozone, I'm sure it's not amazing but I figured it was good enough to do the job. Headlights look great. As far as the closed loop is concerned, you should find out what percentage the ECU actually is allowed to change up to. I have the sprint 500 and it allows up to 15%. Hooking it up is easy but you'll need a wideband O2 sensor. I am currenty running the innovate motorsports ve...

I'm hoping that this can...

Thanks guys, the proportioning valve is just inside so I can make the bay as clean as possible. I have just been collecting parts mostly. Re: Wiring Kouki fender light OR clear bumper lens lights

The negative trigger method will also work for achieving the clear lens light constant whenever the turn signals/hazards are on. The turn signal relay is wired exactly the same, however the clear lense relay will be slightly different. For one, you no longer need a pin 87a. Pin 87 will go to a 12v c...

Wiring Kouki fender light OR clear bumper lens lights

In this DIY, I'm going to show you how to convert your existing turn signal system into a negative trigger system which will then let you have both the parking light and turn signal function of the fender light as seen in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4hQWROSCy4 Most people just wire ...

Are you just plugging it into the cig lighter or are you going to hard wire it in? I think you could definitely get that to work with the factory switch and that would look and be awesome. Who did you use to source the stainless lines from? I definitely think that's the route for running the lines inside the car.
