Re: KONI Sports shocks for the AE86...
As I'm sure that you're already aware, anybody that told you that those other brands are better than Koni are retarded. Anyways, I didn't use a Koni but used a Tokico Illumina in the rear of my AE86 (still mustang, but I used one from a Fox body). It was shorter than the Camaro shock, but the eye bu...

Re: Suspension Combo Question
Megan front springs aren't linear. They're progressive, with dead coils. They're intended to be compressed a lot so they fit appropriately while using a standard length (non short stroke) shock. Your MR2 shocks are more of a short stroke shock, which is why you're having to compress them so much. ge...

Re: bashbar project
Looks like quality fab, nice job. One thing to think about however, is that if you do street driving or track driving with that thing, the lower bar is really low. This means anything you hit will catch on that lower bar and not give. Remember that the corolla chassis is super weak, and you've now c...

Re: Name of Body Kit?
I'd like to know where you bought that kit. From what I understand, that car was purchased from Signal Auto here in the USA, and brought to Japan. The owner decided to get a one-off JGTC inspired widebody kit custom made. It closely resembles the BP/Kraft Trueno they ran in GT300 years ago. Please p...

I've heard some dudes can get their 4-AC up to 150 hp with just a nice tune-up and the addition of those things I mentioned That's why you've just "heard" that, because it doesn't exist. Anyways just enjoy the chassis. If you want to have that stuff go ahead, but the chassis can be fun wi...

Re: The best 4-AC upgrades...
All of the normal things will add power. Cam+Carb+exhaust manifold.
Now that I've addressed your question, I'll follow with the 4AC is a massive waste of time. You're not going to surpass the 4AG let along match it without significant amount of time, money and resources.

Re: 16v Itb swap
Here's the bottom line. You have no interest and are totally unfamiliar with AE86 culture. You don't get any of it. That's fine if you march to the beat of your own drummer. The problem with that is, you had to be told that we are ALL referring to running ITB's with no intake/manifold box. Every sin...

I could name a dozen ways to make more power for less money in about 30 seconds so why?
Sometimes, its not all about making the most power. Sometimes, its about throttle response, sound, and feel.

Take the intake manifold off and try to run the ITB's completely open with the stock computer.

Re: 16v Itb swap
Aside from the way your car looks, I think I figured out where the discrepancy is in your school of thought and others. You're running a manifold (obviously because its forced induction) to the throttle bodies. My write up, as well as most other people's school of thought for N/A applications is to ...

Re: Recommended brake pads
I'm sure other people will chime in, but I like Hawk a lot. RLZ: Hawk makes a pad called the HP+ which I've used in the rear of my car, and friends have used all around. For street tires and occasional track use, they're pretty good. Also as ga_goosh pointed out they're semi-metallic so they'll dust...

Re: Recommended brake pads
There's 2 categories: Racing pads for track events with R compound or Slick Everything else If the car is a street car, I have yet to meet a brake pad that didn't stop the car. Duralast/Autozone/Oreilly's auto parts stuff is fine. If you feel like spending money to justify a sticker, Project Mu and ...

This thread specifically asks if the NA ECU can run ITBs correctly and I still have yet to see a hint of even ever so slightly proven evidance to say it cant, More importantly I have seen it done so it would take a lot to convince me it doesn't work. = "Aliens do exist. I have seen them myself...

yoshimitsuspeed we have a difference of opinion, and that's fine. I'm unsure of what you didn't understand about my reply. You can make anything work with anything, like using the 16v ECU run ITB's. My statement is, why? In its stock configuration it will not run right, and making it work is a lot o...

That's just the opinion of a guy that tracks and autocrosses his car and has the above mentioned parts installed on the car. Your mileage may vary.
So what deterred you from purchasing sway bars from a reputable company?
Just say it, price.

You don't have to use the rear coilover setup. you can purchase just the strut housing already cut, welded with the sleeve, spring, and camber plate. You can then choose your shocks.

Re: megan or t3 suspension
You know, its a pretty sad day when club4ag recommends Megan racing over T3. Seriously. I don't like AGX shocks, but T3 has supported this community for so long, builds excellent quality coilover conversions, uses racing bred components (Ground Control) and has good fabricators. I'm seriously, deepl...
