My CR may even be as high as 10.6:1 after realising I had been using the wrong piston dish volumes for the calculation..

Cat Cams
I have recently fully rebuilt my engine with new oversize pistons, lightened flywheel, lightened crank pulley, 1.0mm cometic head gasket, raised compression from 9.4 to 10.2 and fitted some cat cams 7105137 Has anyone else used these cams before? I'm yet to give the car a proper run out due to suspe...

Re: MR2 AW11
Hi Daan, I have one of the last mk1s registered in the middle of march 1990, just before the mk2 came out! Over the last 18 months I have spent around £2500 on the engine and a £1000 on bodywork. The engine has been completely rebuilt, using new 0.5 oversize pistons, 9.4 compression, cometic 1.0mm m...

AW11 MR2 Blue Top Engine Wiring Loom
In uncut / unmolestated condition from a blue top 4age engine from an AW11 MR2. Purchased by me from a guy on eBay who thought he had a red top, turns out he had a cross over mk1a/mk1b and the loom suits the mk1a or blue top engine. £30 for the loom but as to postage to USA or elsewhere outside of t...

Car is finished now, apart from having to replace the bloody rear wheel bearings! Compression test came out at: 1. 160 2. 160 3. 155 4. 160 I've got low battery power which may be the cause of lower, but in tolerance compression. Once bearings changed, oil and filter will be replaced, as i've now ru...

Re: proposal for a "better clutch disc"
I've got a 16v Fidanza flywheel
The 2ZZGE clutch fits the 16v components
Don't know if the clutch is any stronger, i've not run my engine in long enough to test it out properly.

Re: 4AGE Rebuild
We used an abrasive compound on the rear lights, so cut into the plastic, then mopped it and polished it after. Took majority of the scratches out.
It's up and running now.
Have suspension issues that occurred before I took the car off the road, so have to sort them out now

I bought a Cometic 82mm 1.0mm thick gasket from the USA as it took significantly less time importing it from there to the UK - £50 cheaper as well!
I had to use a thinner one to increase my compression.

Re: Water pump woes
I've been sent a rwd pump from the supplier I bought it from.
Unfortunately on the website the pump for the AE86 is the same for the AW11 - AW11 has a FWD pump.
I've just rebuilt my engine - I'm not totally retarded to put my pulley on the other way around - I've seen it before you know!!

I went to fire up my aw11 for the first time since its all back together, so was putting on the necessary belts etc I've found that my water pump pulley is well out compared to my crank and alternator pulley. I have although got the ae92 7rib low comp piston block - I'm guessing the pumps are comple...
