Re: wow..im here after MANY years...
Resto-mod was how I've been gearing. I didn't want to throw away or customize too much of the original engineering. I can't get away from the AE86 chassis. If I buy a second project car it'll be something completely different but I won't give up on my old 85 corolla. nycjdmmr2 - looking to buy back ...

Re: AE86 vs FRS/BRZ Shootout?
@carbd7age, I'd love to see what 20k can do on the track. Although the frs is fairly light by today's standard, it's still packing plenty of mass. Not saying a little hachi roku can win on that quality alone. It's just something to consider. I would love to see something organized like the Nissan gu...

AE86 vs FRS/BRZ Shootout?
With the recent discussion threads I've been seeing here I remembered watching a MotorTrend challenge pitting a Fair Lady against a new 370Z (here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VRnBKfPOvw ). I wondered whether or not the AE86 could compete against a FRS/BRZ (without the aid of Eurobeat...

Oh boy! you were doing so well too! If you need to borrow a cherry picker, I left mine with my brother in Ontario. Let me know, a car like that should not be parked in garage.

Re: BATTLE GARAGE-RS Zenki Lips, Fender Flares, Coupe Spoile
Quite interested in the zenki lip, definitely wouldn't mind paying the cost of shipping to the islands. Only concern is availability. Are you still taking pre-orders and what's the current ETA for ship out?

Re: Project AE86 aka the never ending project
Ian, your widebody SW20 is pretty sick. It makes me want to have a second project car... that's pretty awesome. If your 86 is going to be half as nice, I definitely can't wait to see you finish it! cheers mate!

Re: Cant PM
I actually can PM, it works though it's still kind of odd that they don't show up in the Sent Folder. I guess I'm used to PM working similar to email; just 100% web-ified. Also heard that PM is enabled only until you post a certain amount. Try PM'ing me and see if it's good.

I might be in the same situation, my PMs show up in the "Outbox" but don't show up in the "Sent" folder; same problem you guys have?

Re: Spring Options for Coilover Suspension
from memory, the Greddy uses 8kg frt springs and 6kg rear. also from memory a stock GTS used 1.9kg fronts and 2.2 kg rears. What I've found to make both a good riding, as well as good handling AE86 (and by default E7s) is a front rate of 300#s (5.5kg) and a rear rate of 200#s (3.6kg) The Greddy dam...

Spring Options for Coilover Suspension
I'm running Greddy Type S suspension setup and although I like it but the spring rates are a bit too stiff for me on the roads here. Are there other spring rates available? Preferable around 3 to 4 kg/mm? I saw some offered on ebay but they don't list their rates.

Re: NEED HELP: STARTING PROBLEMS
That thing on top of the brake proportioning valve looks aftermarket as heck. Could you disconnect it and take photos of any noticeable markings? A video of the start attempts would help.
