Other things have taken priority; school, school, FSAE car, F-class shooting, cameras, the 20v swap, track day, autocross, school, tuning the MS3.
I guess everything other than building that engine.

Re: crankshaft choice

4A-GTE. I'm hoping for around 300 WHP, or just under that (AE95 being AWD). I've got brand new stock late GZE pistons (8.9:1) and I was thinking about running a T28 turbo. I'd rather have the 200k+ mileage on the motor after it gets built since I semi-daily drive this (along with my other car). Plu...

I have a set of those 40-20 rods... can't wait to get my build finished. Only thing I had wondered about was no oiling holes, but as OST mentioned, they're not always necessary? Between those and the non-squirter block I'm using, should I be concerned? I'm sorry I wasn't able to get back to you soo...

It's got 100mm trumpets on AE101 throttles. Running on a megasquirt 3. There's a lot of fun in store for it, and the next one.

Planing on using it with a custom air box Anything else done to the engine? Shorter stacks will push the usable harmonics induction up in the rev range. Usually out of the usable range of an unmodified engine. Longer stacks will, conversely, bring it down. This guy offers some advice on intake harm...

To determine spring length: Find an average front and rear corner weight. That is to say: how much weight will the spring support? Find the distance between spring perches for the ride height you want. The total length will be the at rest length + the corner weight divided by the spring rate. Be sur...

For me, I'd rather support companies who support good labor practices. If their working conditions aren't something I'd be willing to submit myself to, then I'm going to look elsewhere for my product. Most Chinese labor practices fail this test. Some American and European companies do, too!

It drives me batshit crazy that Carillo, Molnar and others use US hardware on metric motors. It is my understanding that ARP makes their best conrod bolts in SAE. Still have your AE101 ITBs? Throw them back on. AE111 ITBs are large even for AE111s. You're losing throttle modulation for likely no gain in power. If you'd like, A Graham Bell talks about throttle sizing in "Four Stroke Performance Tuning" You can also do CSA analysis and look into fluid...
