Typically when you order new pistons, you plan for an overbore... http://ost.ebeans.ch/albums/userpics/10005/pistons_and_cyl_liners.jpg The cylinder liners are in very good condition, with no ridge at all, and only the very top of the bores no longer showing hone marks.... but the liners are likely ...

Re: HIGH comp Big port carby build with MANY questions

I hate those pistons..... https://kgpengineering.com/wp-content/uploads/wis-k506m815_w.jpg dome volume approaching 5cc... just too much. Jondee's recommendation is good... that may help. You wrote the cams as 264/272 - am I right that you have the 264 cam on the intake side? Any chance you can swap ...

Went to reassemble the head and realized I'm 7 valve spring seat / locators short. Normally I'd expect to lose springs, lol. Could only track down the 20v variant. 13734-16020 Doubt I'm lucky enough that they interchange between the 16v large port and the 20v motors, but there were a ton of d...

a 7AGE is something that I was considering, especially as the 1800cc engine get a 100lbs weight break. OP - do you have a dyno plot?? Also you may need to change the car some as the 4AG is a taller engine then the 3T. If you make more room, you also open up the possibility of the 7AGE (7AF block, with 4AG head) As far as power potential for a silvertop... it is similar to the Blacktop, easy enough to...

On a related note. For "3rd party" cast pistons, which don't already have a coating (whatever it is that was done on OEM 10.3:1 pistons), would having the domes ceramic coated help when pushing for higher-than-stock HP? I'm guessing it at least helps with heat dispersion and so prevents h...

There isn't a horsepower limit... there is a tuning limit. There is a "flaw" with all the n/a pistons for the 4AGE... the 2nd compression ring rests on ring land that is not well supported (piston on right in photo) http://ost.ebeans.ch/albums/userpics/10005/ring_land_support_slot_vs_holes...

Re: Newb question on how to guide for ITBs on JDM 4AG Bluetop w/ MAP

I guess that was my question. Will there be any potential engine damage for driving around with a vehicle that is not properly tuned (not for very long), but am assuming at least 100-200 miles before the ITB kit and the standalone ECU is installed. being 100% honest... I don't know...odds are there...

Can the stock JDM 16v ECU run the car ok ? "Ok" - a lot would depend on what ok actually means... but it should run on stock JDM management, how well is another story... The stock computer uses a whole bunch of different parameters(stock engine), you have changed many of those... so, it s...
