Re: Godspeed/eBay parts VS OEM parts.

brands like Godspeed and Speed Daddy are just not that great unless you're on a budget. Wrong. Those brands are crap regardless if you're on a budget or not. Whether you use (literally) poo as a gasket maker because you thing its good, or you're using (literally) poo because its free and comes out ...

S13 Full Coilovers for sale

I bought these to convert them for AE86 usage. You can either use S13 front arms and sindles or you can weld these onto an AE86 spindle. Or just use them on an S13. They come with s13 camber plates (tein) and rear Cashiew spherical bushing top mount for rears (cashiew) http://pic20.picturetrail.com/...

Re: 4AGE to W58 Bellhousing

Generally, you need the front half of an automatic W58 supra equipped driveshaft with the rear half for the AE86. Or it could be the other way around. You'll also need to get a custom clutch made with the spline count for the W58 but the diameter of whatever flywheel you're using. You can use the st...

Re: Racing Brake Pads

We have the same taste in brakes! I like Hawk Blue a lot, mostly because its a medium bite compound and modulation is really easy. However, if you want more "bite" like it sounds like you're asking for, I'd try Raybestos ST-43. I had those and in my opinion they have "too much" b...

Re: Coil over reviews?

"Megan, BC, Ksport," are not necessarily "reputable" companies. They are all Chinese/Taiwanese as well. Buying a pre-packaged coilover setup is easy, but to get something quality its my opinion that you have a quality welder/fabricator and use any of the shocks I mentioned above....

Re: Red Death Revival: Beams

I love your build man. Just a note though, mounting the temp sensor on a sandwich block that goes under the exhaust manifold made the sensor show the wrong temp readings. The aluminum heats up and heats the sensor. It was always way higher than it actually was.

Re: Coil over reviews?

Just so you know, most of the Chinese/Taiwanese companies do not RnD on their coilovers, so more than likely you're getting valving from whatever other coilover their AE86 offering is based off of. Could be an S13, Soarer, Jeep, Its anybody's guess. They're fine for street driving/cruising, going lo...

I've ran no diff cooler for over 7 years now, with R-compound and an aggressively shimmed TRD LSD. Diff coolers are pretty awesome, but I don't think they're necessary in all but extreme cases.

ITB onto 16v checklist

Re-posting this from the old forum. I hope you all still find it useful: This is perhaps the most popular question on the 16v forum, and most people are totally unaware of the costs related to doing this. Yes I do have ITB's on my 16v. First, let's get two popular questions out of the way: "Can...

Chinese radiators are pretty. The only problem is, you won't know if its crap until a year or two down the line, or after a hard session at the track when it cracks. Its so cheap that you could always replace it with another. Its a gamble, but your call. As with all Chinese parts, you have to rememb...

Re: Complete Formula Atlantic 4AG parts list & specs

Toyota of Japan wouldn't know what to do with those numbers either. Those parts are sourced from all USA distributors/manufacturers except maybe the engine bearings. You'd have to contact a Formula Atlantic engine supplier like Hasselgren or Lyonings. You shouldn't bother them unless you're willing ...

Keiichi is sponsored by TRD. TRD also built the car. As for the sticking with the same brand thing...it certainly helps with show points and sticker collections! Seriously though, you should always buy according to 4 things: Price, Dependability, Serviceability, technical needs. Some things to consi...

"Anti-squat" isn't really what it does. Think of it this way: when your car is stock, every angle of the suspension geometry is calculated with each measurement in mind. When stock, everything works the way its supposed to. When you lower the car, you changed one equation, which in turn ch...

Short answer: If you're Filipino: Carbs If you're everyone else: ITB Long answer: Its cost VS. nostalgia. Carbs are cheaper. Old dudes love carbs. ITB's are more expensive, more costly to tune (if you can't do it yourself) but function a lot better. Technology has allowed the same general principals...
