Re: 212mm Clutch and Flywheel on a C52

On the 4AGE they started using the 212mm FW around 86. On an AE92 if you have a 4AGE you should have a 212mm FW. If you have a 4afe or 7afe or something else then I am not so sure about the FW size but both those motors use 6 bolt FW vs the 4AGEs 8 which means the 4AG FW wouldn't work. this isnt in...

Chubi,

what condition is the crank? was there any spun bearings? and will you sell just the crank?

phanist wrote:is this 7rib block the same as the 20v BT block?

this block is a 16v block the 20v blocks have the cut out like the 4af blocks but you can build a 20v with this block. you will just need a 16v pan.

Re: alternator pulley removal question?

when i changed mine out i used an impact and i sepped on the pully while i had an old belt in the groves for some grip. if you want to use a wrench you will probably have a hard time getting the nut to break loose. once the nut was removed the pully itself came off pretty easily.

WTB: non cruise throttle cable

it finally happened. this morning i jump into my 86 to head to work and my engine RPM will not drop lower than 3000rpm. i pull over tug on the throttle leaver under the hood and the rpms drop to idle speed. as soon as i push the gas pedal to get back on my way the rpms are back up to 3000. does any ...

the trans will work just put your bell from your old trans onto the new trans and it should work. you might have to reuse your shifter but im not sure also you might have to swap the tail section but again im not too sure just compare them when you have them next to each other

you have 2 options. 1 get a grinder and make it fit (I would grind on the alt bracket and not the engine) or 2 get a 16v or silver top oil pump and tensioner

Re: 4AG 20V ST, GZ crank.. thoughts?

the silver top crank and the gze crank are the same thing. they both have the same part numbers. if you use these in a 7a block you will loose compression due to a taller block deck height. and the 7a rods have a different journal size. unless you boost this motor (and maybe not even then) to all he...

pull the engine codes to see if the o2 sensor is good. if thats not it manually open the afm to see if it will rev. is there any cracked intake hoses? might be a vac leake or post metered air leak. did you check if the tps was set properly? does it idle rough?

clean all the surfaces. this is the most important part and will also determine the longevity of any motor. clean, clean and clean again untill you will eat off of it. then clean it again. as stated above check the mating surfaces of the block and the head for truness with a straight edge.

what "red Top" do you have? small port non tvis or large port tvis? this makes a big difference because all the wiring conections are different between these two motors. the housing between the termostat and the block is the water pump backing plate and/or water pump. is your car RWD or FW...
