As to your 5th gear... you might look for an Mfactory overdriven 5th gear/shaft. There are a few out there, just have to find someone selling. Interesting that you are doing a Blacktop, as I currently have a client who I'm overhauling their Blacktop, doing some porting along the way. I'll be sharing...

Needed some measurements for this engine crate... the last one (OST-042) was easier since it didn't have any manifolds. Re: OST-050 - A VERY special build

the pulleys (BOTH) move about 1.5-2.0 degrees counter-clockwise. Another thought though would be to keep the pulleys stationary, and move the crankshaft clockwise to take up the slack..... moving the crank clockwise 1.5-2 degrees to take up the slack means we have retarded cam timing. To confirm, w...

https://www.wiseco.com/Catalogs/SportCompact/AB17SC-Subaru-Toyota.pdf Based on the info in pdf above... you really don't want that piston... it is a extreme piston - I don't recommend Crown volume that large (either 5cc, or 5.9cc) is huge. Stock 9.4:1 piston is negative 3.8cc, and high comp(10.3:1) ...

I checked with one crank maker... his reply, "The only way to make that type of crank is out of billet, the engineering cost would be very high and we would have to make at least 5 at a time and there is not advantage to it."

Hmmmm.... interesting concept... I'm in for discussion... I can inquire with my camshaft makers how much they would charge for redesigning.... you might talk to a few camshaft makers... I wonder if lobe design/timing would change much???
