Re: conversion revisited
I might have gone that route had I known more at the time but already have blacktop motor ready to go. Seemed good choice, plenty of parts available and chassis conversion items

Re: conversion revisited
yes using a42dl trans with MR2 flexplate. Decided on the blacktop just because of modern efi (reliability) 16V engines would be simpler, no vvt, no Japan only parts. Are you a capable mechanic? Or would someone else be doing the work? I'd like to think so, just no 4age experience. Here's my website...

Blacktop IAT?
On a different topic I am setting up my wiring harness for blacktop. This is going in a Morris minor and am using Tweaked universal harness w/ Elite 750 ECU. I have one plug that goes to IAT? (Assume I know very little about 20v engine management systems) I was told IAT is in airbox but I have no pl...

Re: conversion revisited
Its going in a 1960 Traveller. I bought it for my wife but the 50 hp twin carb non synchro trans is a bit of a match for her. Decided a modern EFI auto was the way to go. Once I did my homework the blacktop was obvious choice (compact, reliable, good parts availability and plenty of power) We're jus...

Hi again. Coming back to this, putting a 20v blacktop/auto trans into 1960 Morris. Just got engine back from machine shop and ready to fabricate mounting in car. Couple questions. I need a starter, are they different automatic from manual trans? Also have not been able to locate block plate for auto...

Got it. I I understand what you’re saying but I’m still trying to have a practical application for mine. There will be no charge light unless I provide one. I’m thinking of a normal white that there is a power contact and then a ground contact. I’m not sure what type of light has two power connectio...

Re: Fuel line question
No I don’t need more pressure but this is going in a non Toyota platform. I’m adopting the tank to an in-line filter and didn’t know how it would work with the 20 V regulator. So on the original 20 v set up the pump pushes full pressure from the tank and isn’t regulated till after it goes through th...

Fuel line question
Hi again. I am trying to figure out the fuel line configuration for the 20 V Does the return to the fuel tank come off of the intake? If so where is it located. I am assuming the inlet is the larger banjo fitting at the rear of the engine Also what psi do the systems like to run at? Thanks in advance

engine sealing questions
Hi. Before we fit the 20V into the car I am re sealing the engine. I ordered new seals and gaskets from Battle garage but there are a few they didn't list. Oil pan= Is this just silicone? lower timing cover (oil pump?) silicone? injector seals- they had a kit that has 4 large/4 small o rings that go...

WTB : A42DL auto trans parts
I need some parts for an automatic transmission rear wheel drive car. Transmission is a 42 DLR. I need the block plate that goes between the engine and transmission, the transmission oil dipstick and dipstick tube and a starter

Re: 4AGE automatic
I think I understand that but I’m still confused as to what turns it on and off. There is a switch that supplies power through an indicator light which tells if the overdrive is off or on. Then it goes to relay which is also must have a go no go switch controlled by water temperature probably relate...

One more question regarding brackets. Will the ae86 air conditioning bracket line the compressor up with the blacktop pulley?

I am installing a blacktop 4age into a non Toyota (1960 Morris Minor). I need some engine brackets that attach to the block that will give me a starting point to fabricate my frame attachment. I got my A42DL. There are electrical harnesses going into it, one on drivers side other on passenger side where shift lever is. Any idea what they are? I suspect one by shifter is neutral safety/ reverse light?

Re: 4AGE automatic
Perfect. I will pickup and get rebuilding. We do a lot of automatics so we should be able to beef it up well
I haven’t picked up motor yet and there are many out there. Is blacktop preferred over silvertop? I like performance but being wife’s car reliability is primary concern.
