That’s awesome man , whoops thats right totally forgot about that timing cover lol after acouple time you can finesse it in but it is tight. 8-) Same thing goes with the rear coolant neck , If you remove the egr and tubes theres more room to Get it off and remove the rubber coolant hose By bottom o...

Re: "Kentucky AE86: A Levin Story"
So ... I finally got around to fixing that WP leak and yeah, that o-ring behind the waterpump had snapped. I also learned that taking the timing cover off the engine makes putting on the waterpump sooooooo much easier Lol. I had a busy winter break with some trips out west so that took up all my tim...

Re: Speeduino? Arduino powered ECU?
Yea the old megasquirt used the distributor signals so i couldnt understand why it wouldnt work with the speeduino. I have a buddy who is interested in trying to build one of these with a blacktop 20v. I will probably help him out with it and post my findings here. Assuming you want to use the stoc...

Re: Speeduino? Arduino powered ECU?
Crank signal's well covered with the Squirt crowd. Agree 100% on going cop. Grab some off a k series honda or lsx at a pick and pull. Well documented and durable. Might be someone local that would let you borrow a jimstim. Check their forums. ^_^ I'm fairly stoked you're progressing. I'd honestly r...

Re: Speeduino? Arduino powered ECU?
You have a couple of options to get that square wave signal. Easiest would be to go to the junkyard and pick a crank sensor off a 90s ford equipped with EDIS. Then you would need a trigger wheel, i used the one from T3 cause it bolts right on to their crank pulley. Make sure you use shielded wiring...

Re: Speeduino? Arduino powered ECU?
Price is definitely right for screwing around with a car you'll never get your money back out of. Lol you got that right! And also cheap enough to where if I mess up, no big deal. Right now I'm saving up for a JimStim before I buy all the speeduino parts so I can do as much bench testing as possibl...

Re: FX-16 gear ratio/manual trans
Yeah I'm with Aukword. I think your best bet would be finding a smaller final drive. Surely there's an option out there for the fwd/mr2 guys out there. I know all the b-series honda dudes would swap the 5th gear out of LS integras since they're longer, but idk what thats like for the fwd 4age guys.

If this were available when I was a broke-a$$ engineering student, I'd be all over it; Low risk/high reward. On a stock 16v? I took a few Mechatronics classes that used a BASIC Stamp when I was in school. I had to build a robot that could handle a bunch of different obstacle courses. For the last t...

Has anyone ever heard of this? https://speeduino.com/wiki/index.php/Speeduino Hardware / feature list https://speeduino.com/wiki/index.php/Overview The arduino mega by itself is a pretty powerful micro-controller, and its all open-source so its easy to write code and upload it to the board. Re: Need help finding this part or recommendation
The Fujitsubo doesn't seem to state it can work with 20v since the bolt alignment is a bit different The SMR2U looks good, but same issue as Fujitsubo, spend this kind of money want it to just fit. Battle Garage is interseting, but it says "pre-order" kind of dont want to have to wait mon...

Ughh ... I would love to have that header. Or any TODA 4age parts for that matter, but there's no way I can afford them Lol. Fujitsubo has a good header, but I would imagine the real issue would be finding someone to buy/ship it for you. https://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/prods/detail/000000000000001159/00...

Thanks for the replies! The plugs and timing belt are new, I replaced all that stuff this past winter and have put maybe 5k miles on the car since then. Hesitation at low rpms
For the past few months I've noticed my AE86 has a hesitation at low RPMS. It only occurs during initial acceleration, for example taking off in 1st gear from a stop light. I would press the accelerator and it would hesitate until about 3k and then take off. I tried looking up to see if it was a com...

So sick dude!! You're almost there!! Side note, can you clarify a bit on the drive belt problem? Was it too short even with the alternator as short as it will go? Were you using an OEM Toyota belt or aftermarket? I know when I replaced my belt(s) last year, I had to make several trips to the parts s...
