Re: what happened to the community
Sorry to resurrect a dead thread but I stumbled across it while searching the site for something and had to reply. I just thought I would respond to add some positivity to this thread too. I'm a early 20s 86 owner that semi-recently purchased a 85 zenki coupe and am super thrilled to be a part of t...

Is that a legitimate website where people buy cars from?
I remember after I sold my Silvia S13, a year later I came across an add on the internet on some random "unique cars for sale" website with my car on there. They used my pictures/info from my craigslist ad and everything Lol.

Re: Water Outlet Question
Can anyone tell me why this is happening: http://i64.tinypic.com/2qjvtc5.jpg Kind of a random question, but how long are those two bolts? Holding the plate onto the head? I have a bad coolant leak back there, and I don't think they've ever been taken off before so I'm anticipating on them snapping....

Dude those calipers look sick. Any thought on wheel choice later on down the road? Or are you going to stick with the Konig Rewinds?
I feel like you'd gotta get some wheels that are a little more open to show that stuff off. TE37s would look good

Re: "Kentucky AE86: A Levin Story"
By the way, did you find out if there was a common ground between the three readouts? Thats another reason why I decided to take the cluster apart. Out of that list you posted there's only 4 ground wires; 16, 26, 19, and 3. Everything else works fine so I was hoping I could at least trace which one...

Is there some reason I cannot find Japan service manuals on internet queries? Thanks for the info/link! That definitely helped out a lot. https://i.imgur.com/Gmid9A0.png If you paid attention in your physics classes, you will know that acceleration = dV/dT so the RPM trace is essentially also indicating how the vehicle accelerated. In this case it is virtually a straight line, which says it pulls steady without any dropoff up to the ...

Ouch ... Yeah, I know the feeling. I remember pretty much destroying my bedroom after my 00 SI got rear ended. Next time, make sure you use a penetrating solution and let it soak overnight on ALL bolts you plan on messing with. Also, from my experience, water pump, crank, any lower engine or "hard to reach" bolts will give you trouble. If it's an iron block, you could just warm it up before you me...

I vote no paint Treat the rust spots on the chassis (if any) and then save the rest for go-fast parts
There's just something about a worn AE86 with its battlescars thats so sexy.

Do you like to fry your brain?? No but seriously, that is awesome.
