Re: oil cap and shift knob identification (Vintage)

My buddy has that cap on his 1967 Corona with a 3rc engine. I'm not 100% positive but I believe they were nicknamed "onigiri "oil caps because they resemble rice balls

Re: Interior trim ae86

If someone out there with a coupe has the time and could do me a solid, can you look at the part numbers on your trim. It would be greatly appreciated.

The P/N's on my pieces are 62431-12040 and 62432-12030.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Interior trim ae86

Thanks for the reply AE86Kai
Its interesting, cross referencing with my current pieces, none of the p/n match what is listed. It must be because the "oh ****" handle is on the opposite side for the rhd 86's.

Also i didnt realize until now, but it looks my garnishes are from a ae85 lol.

Quick question, is the roof trim (garnish) 62440/62430 interchangeable between hatch and coupes?

Front suspension question

whats up, was wondering if some one could help me out with a question regarding spring rates. So in hawaii, if you modify your car you have to get a reconstruction permit in order to pass safety inspections and such. The inspectors do a jounce test to see if you have acceptable suspension travel. Ri...

Re: Any one good with oem radios?

ahhh. Do I just check for continuity for the speaker outputs?

It's funny, I've been looking for some cassettes all over in my house for the past few days but no luck. I don't think I've ever been so eager to find one.

I found a pinout, which I believe is for memory. You wouldn't happen to know if that needs a separate 12v supply do you?

Thanks for the tip. I was able to power it up successfully.

No sound output yet though. When using the tuner, will I hear static even without an antenna connected?

Any one good with oem radios?

Went to a yard and was able to pick a USDM oem radio/tape player from a 1984 sr5 corolla. Trying to figure out how to wire this sucker up, but from what i can tell the wiring diagram I am using does not seem to be for the right model/year(1986 electrical diagram). The wire colors don't match the dia...

Re: After market hatch question

Thanks for the replies. I've just been thinking about some options. I've contacted several parts dealers, and shipping is a little too outrageous for my blood. I already started cutting the rot from my original hatch, but it's real far gone. I was able to find another spare hatch that was rusty as w...

Re: After market hatch question

thanks for the reply. I've been leaning more towards frp because of cost, but shipping is so crazy out to the islands that I was thinking what the hell spend the extra bucks. We do have a lot of pot holes out here though, so I guess that is something to think about as well. hahaha From your experien...

After market hatch question

My hatch is pretty rusty and beat up, and I was thinking about going aftermarket. For any one who has bought a Seibon CF hatch, do they all come with a pre-drilled hole for the rear windshield wiper? All of the web sites I've been looking at use the same stock photo with an existing hole. On a side ...

Thanks for the info cloudstrife. Yah at first I thought that purple was just faded black and I didn't think it would match, but my rear seats are so faded they actually do prettty well haha. I would like to throw these in my car, but haven't been able to make up my mind yet. I'm not sure if I want to spend the money seat rails for some old seats. Do you have any fitment issues with the size of the seats?

Need help identifying some seats.

Whats up everybody, need some help identifying a pair of bride seats that was given to me. As far as I can tell they are two different models. I believe one is a brix and one maybe an ergo? I know there are different generations of each type of brix and ergo, and was wondering if anyone would be abl...

Someone was grinding metal on a car somewhat close to mine, and now I have rust specks all over my windshield. Anyone have any experience removing the rust stains and pitting caused by the sparks?

Re: problem shifting into gear

update. I cracked the clutch line a little to relieve some pressure, unbolted the slave, and gave the clutch fork a good shake back and forth. Seemed to loosen up what ever was stuck. The car was able to drive up and down the road afterwards. It is still a little unsettling that the problem might ha...

Re: problem shifting into gear

Thanks jondee

Just got out from under the car to check the slave, no fluid/crud build up. I unbolted the slave to see if maybe the clutch fork was stuck but it could move freely as well.

Oh well, but since I will be dropping the trans might as well buy some new parts ay? haha

whats up. Was wondering if anyone would have some insight on a problem I have. The trans doesn't seem to engage into gear. I don't think it is the clutch master or slave. I can see them operating properly when pushing in the clutch pedal. Also when the car is off and in first gear, I can manually pu...

Re: GTS gauge cluster not reading

When I did my sr5-gts swap something similar happened to me, but it was a stupid fix. One of the gauge cluster plugs didn't seat all the way. Plugged it in till it clicked and it worked. Hopefully that is your only issue.
