Re: My red hatch (fix-up and restoration)
This makes me want to update my thread with new links for pics and covering some of the things I've done (and not done) over the last few years. Keep up the good work!

Re: Dashboard restoration options
I tried restoring my dash using spray foam, bondo, undercoating, and interior paint. It didn't look half bad for a few months but it started to crack again very quickly. I found the technique online almost 10 years ago and would do it differently if I were to do it again. A new dash or cap would be ...

Re: where to buy Ring and Pinion?
Update!!
After a couple of calls and emails, I was able to get in touch with Spence from Weir Performance. I was able to order the spool, 4.778 r&p, and diff rebuild kit I was looking for. Part should show up tomorrow or Saturday, actually.

where to buy Ring and Pinion?
Hey guys, my pinion gear is tore up and missing teeth. I need a new one. Been thinking about changing the final drive ratio at the same time. I've tried calling and emailing Weir Performance but I haven't gotten a response yet. Anybody know any other place that I could buy a new R&P from? I don'...

I used expanding foam for all the deep cracks and body filler to fill in the little holes & imperfections.

teaser
Its been a while since I've updated this, but I'm making progress on the dash. I might put together a proper update soon. Here's a little before/after teaser. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj294/spiffy1379/Ariel/2015-03-10%2012.36.07_zpsr0ehrviu.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj294/spif...

Feb 17 - Removal Complete!
Another day off, another day spent with a chisel in hand! This was the part I was most worried about. How much rust would I find in the floor or firewall? Luckily, it looks like most of it is surface rust that can be taken out with a wire wheel. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj294/spiffy1379/Ar...

Ways to remove seam sealer?
I'm in the process of stripping out the sound deadening in my coupe and wanted some recommendations on how to remove the seam sealer, or if I should bother with it right now. I've heard that a wire wheel is just the best way to do it, is that true? Also, mostly unrelated, whats with these rectangula...

February 13, 2015 - Interior Progress!
February 13, 2015 - Interior Progress! With most everything pulled out of the car, I first wanted to get an idea about how the original door panels looked and how they went together. It wasn’t hard to pull them apart. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj294/spiffy1379/Ariel/2015-02-03163852_zps59c9...

Re: injector help
I did some research last year and it seems that the 85 & 86 Camry and the 7MGE Cressida and Supra use a low impedance injector in the 185-195 cc/min range, so that might be helpful if you can find some in a junkyard. After some research, I got lucky at the junkyard and pulled two sets of injecto...

December 25, 2014 – Christmas after moving So in December I moved from Kearns to Taylorsville. I lost my covered backyard parking but still had a spot on the side of the house for Ariel. With the light dusting of snow we received over Christmas, I couldn’t resist a quick pic. http://i275.photobucket...

LS1 corolla featured on MotoIQ!!
I hope the OP doesn't mind me posting this here. I think it's freaking sweet that his car got "featured" by MotoIQ and he had a chance to meet & talk with Mr. Mike Kojima. The car looks great!

My research suggests the green small port injectors are 250cc, based on the Nippon Denso part number and various online resources that claim to have flow tested or have original documentation to go from.

September 9, 2014 – Painted!
Even though I had committed to painting the car back in August, I hadn’t fully decided on a color scheme until I delivered the car to my dad. I went back and forth on a few ideas, but finally decided on Satin Black for the plastic pieces (front & rear bumpers and door moldings) and the original ...

September 4, 2014 – Masking & Primer
After spending a week or two sanding the car, it was ready to be delivered to my dad to finish the prep work and paint it. August 2014 – Prepping for Paint
As you can see from the pictures, Ariel was in desperate need of a makeover. Some fresh paint and a little bit of bodywork would change the look and feel of the car. I’m not one to typically get hung up about how a car looks, but I was tired of how crappy Ariel looked and the teasing and joking from...

July 11 & 12, 2014 - Frustrations at the track.
In the whirlwind to get my car and my roommate’s car ready for the drift event, I hurriedly reassembled the corolla to give Jordan more room to work on his car. I also had to work out the logistics of helping a friend get his car to the event for Friday, July 11, and my car to the event on Saturday,...

All was not well with Ariel though. While she did run, she was gutless below 4000 rpm (more so than usual), didn’t idle correctly, and killed both the battery and the alternator. I put in a voltmeter to try to get an idea what was going on with the charging system. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums...

January 2014 - A new year, a new place to live.
I moved from Davis County down to Kearns at the beginning of the year. It was closer to school and I was able to transfer to an O’Reilly down there so everything was close by. Living with a friend that’s into cars and drifting is also a nice perk. I finally got the bumper set from Reno after some sn...
